Quoted from Manic:They all deliver to your house. Either it is drop shipped directly from Stern or it comes from the distro's stock.
Not as fun or as rewarding as "the hunt" but you do get the cold sweats as you pop open the box
I know out of town guys do this, but the one that i know of that is local to us doesnt. I always had to pick up from him
Quoted from pudealee:Alrighty - just ordered a Premium. The wait commences...
Hey, you're not allowed to add it to 'your collection' until it arrives!
Quoted from PW79:Agreed.
I'm @ home today trying not to puke.
There's a NIB en route to my house today.
Will it arrive safely? Will it arrive on time? What about concealed damage? Will it ghost? Is the cabinet going to split? Will the software & bugs get taken care of? What about node boards?
The life of a pinball idiot is a difficult one
Wow that is a lot of stress you got going on there. You better start drinking heavily!
AS is a Cinderella Story out from nowhere fun game!
No one has more fun playing pinball than Pinsiders, I think?, so you should love it! If you don't I am sure you got 500 posts in you as to why. But please play the game once before you hate it. Ha!
Oh?
So you can complete all 4 mini wizard modes as different characters?
What happens when you finish it once? It stages the ball somewhere and asks you to choose the next character? Or does it automatically choose
Quoted from FalconPunch:Oh?

I had all the modes and mini wizards done and at the end of Bobba Fett escape the left ramp lit up like Hand of the King on GOT with all inserts blinking for left ramp and rest of table out. After i shot left ramp it let me switch characters. It happen so fast i cant remember if it stopped the ball on left ramp post, i sorta think it did but i hit flippers not knowing it would release it. In the picture i took im cradling the ball while i still havent selected 2nd character, i beat the modes as Han and 2nd character i chose was R2 but in picture Leias lit and the action button was blinking blue/white to lock in new character.
Quoted from Phbooms:just had my first game where i made it to the 2nd character
Boom. Well done.
Puts one concern of mine to rest. One reason I think mode stacking will be fun on this game... As players get better and better at this game, it will be fun to advance through and try to play all four characters. If Dwight codes in a super duper wizard mode after playing all four characters this could be STERNs next Valinor equivalent.
Quoted from T-800:Boom. Well done.

Thanks man! I was concerned with it also thinking it wasnt in the code so figured id post it was possible, it really caught me off guard.
My LE should be here soon. I've read a few posts that might help the game play better. I'll play it as-is first, but let me know if there are any other suggestions, here's what I remember:
Tattooing coil power set to 15.
Flippers to soft.
Scoop ser to 30.
Confirm. Sweet code .87
Quoted from Who-Dey:So if you bought a new car and it didn't get here as quickly as you wanted it to, are you going to call General Motors or the dealer that you bought it from? GM would think you are nuts if you called them direct I guarantee it, just like Stern did. This is a factory that is making pinball machines. They run into snags and have manufacturing problems etc. you "pre ordered" a brand new title that wasn't in production yet so you should expect possible delays. If you wanted to have a game guaranteed for your party then you should have bought a game that was in stock already. Just relax and tell the people at your party sorry but the pinball machine didn't get here in time, not a big deal really unless it's a party just for this game or something. If that's the case then you should have known better to schedule a party for a game that you were waiting on to be manufactured.
Goddamn right I call the factory. Hell, they sent me pictures twice a week on the line. This also wasn't some boutique BS, it was one of the big 3. Anything less will be unacceptable for me in the future...half kidding.

I think you're right. There is going to have to be something for completing all 4 characters, it seems only logical!

I must of missed those posts, are those menu settings? If this is already discussed I apologize but what do those settings do for the game to improve the play?
Quoted from DJNOEL30:I must of missed those posts, are those menu settings? If this is already discussed I apologize but what do those settings do for the game to improve the play?
[EDIT: derp, I don't own the game and got a couple of things wrong, thanks Phbooms for corrections in the following post]
Those are mostly menu settings. On some people's machines those avoid SDTM drains, YMMV as each game is a bit different and ball trajectory is also defendant on your playfield angle/level. Basically you'll need to do some tweaking/"dialing in" to get it playing how you like (true for any NIB pin). I would have thought the Tatooin coil and the scoop were one and the same (in which case he probably saw different people using different settings) but I haven't looked closely.
Software version should be displayed on startup. If you don't have the latest you update with an SD card. Don't feel bad if you have to do that, as with any brand new game several more revisions will (hopefully) be forthcoming so you'll have to do it soon enough anyway.
Oh, and the soft flipper strength is a preference but the thought is you're less likely to get air balls and broken plastics. Makes sense to start there and turn it up if the flippers are too weak to make ramp shots.

the right scoop only has 1 setting in options, you update with a flash drive usb stick not a SD card, and there is no actual flipper settings you but you can adjust all coils to soft.

Just got word that my distributors order or LEs are now on their way! So looks like I will have the machine on time after all! Sweet!

See you complain on public forums on the net and you get what you want.
Folks on Pinside may want to try this someday! So few do it now.

Goes to show that throwing a temper tantrum does work, pay attention all you kids out there.
Other than the usual pinsider abuse I'm sure my bitching fell on deaf ears. Just some good timing I guess, regardless I'll take it..

Post some pics and gameplay video once you've got it up and running!

Will do planning on it!
One of my friends will get some good video of the machine once mine comes in.
I'm hoping to have it next week.
Quoted from CheapTrick33:LOL.... Your "The Big Dog" the dog house should be plenty big enough for you and 2 new machines!!!
Ha! That is a great idea...
Quoted from DEN:you should just shut up and be happy .....
Yeah - but you probably pay less for canned ham than we do here in the US.

First page in the AS manual says all these things are normal now and are not covered. It is in the manual. The manual!
Wait did this really happen?

Can you post some pics? I just ordered a Pro - my first pin ever - and I hope it goes smoothly.
Quoted from zaphX:Can you post some pics? I just ordered a Pro - my first pin ever - and I hope it goes smoothly.
He was joking. I think?
If there is a fork truck hole on the box when you inspect it cut a slightly bigger hole to inspect for damage. Do not accept shipment and call your distro immediately if there is. Open it. Front legs on first. Lean game forward and rest on the front legs. Lift back of game up and put on a stool then put rear legs on. Take glass off, inspect and unstrap Jacky. Put balls in.
Play the crap out of it.
Congrats!
Quoted from TheBigDog:My wife thinks I'm addicted to my AFMr, I told her at least it's not Porn.... is it?
I assured her that would all end next week, but didn't tell her that's because my SWLE will be here on Monday. Anyone have an extra dog house?
Dude, you're getting that really quick, congrats!!!
I'm not kidding
All of that is true
Luckily the game was not damaged. It was a super small poke in the box (that's what she said).
My 2 cabinet issues are unrelated to shipping & I'm awaiting a reply from Patrick to my distro.
PF issues are a non issue. The debris is disapointing but its a PF not a Lambo.
I like the game. None of the issues are terrible or really picture/story worthy at this time. I will certainly share updates if something changes tho.
Quoted from PW79:Cabinet split

Those issues certainly sound severe and picture-worthy.
Please assuage my fears!

lol that's awesome!
For those who own this one, do the modes feel similar or different?
I ask this question because last games seems to be built with many modes But are they also different from each other to keep the interest of having as much.
Thanks

Depends. How much is dogfood in the US?

Pics or its not true
Quoted from EricHadley:Pics or its not true
I agree 100%
I'm awaiting Stern's reply first. If they handle it well it I will share a "yay Stern" story with you all.
If they dont, welp, I will certainly share that story with you all too. Pics, video & all.
Till then you can just consider it "not true" by all means.
My goal is to be easy to deal with during all this rather than a loud mess on Pinside. I have to make things right for folks all the time w/my job & nothing is worse than trying to help an asshole lol. So I'm gonna be cool at this point in time.
Curious too where Stern put the alternate translites? Did they ship in the box inside a separate container?
