Art is...hmmm.

#5 6 years ago

I gotta say the LE backglass is lacking compared to the others too imo

#6 6 years ago

Game of Star Wars?

The playfield, seriously?

#12 6 years ago

Premium/LE playfield looks cool but the art is not what I was expecting, little disappointing.

But with SR and his most recent Sterns its all about how they play!

#13 6 years ago

Am I missing some killer features here? I don't see anything but ramps and a death star?

#14 6 years ago

Ramps on the Premium/LE Look pretty Wild!

31
#15 6 years ago

Well my first impression of the playfield art isn't the greatest.

#16 6 years ago

Death Star physical ball lock that blows up (cracks open), releases the balls and starts destroy the Death Star multiball?

#17 6 years ago

I do like the metal ramps on the premium, the splitting Death Star I would need to see in action. It looks like the are going with them based on the films as far as Pro, Premium and LE. Empire all the way. I wonder if the LE will have a Death Star 2 model.

#18 6 years ago

looks like the premium is the way to go ....AGAIN. Sucks they are the last to ship.

#19 6 years ago

The art makes it look like a Sega pin

#20 6 years ago

Hyperspace ramp only on Premium/LE

#21 6 years ago

Cat's outta the bag, may as well show some quality pics.

DI is a huge flop.

#24 6 years ago

Hmmm. Kinda looks like someone's poor attempt at a joke.

#25 6 years ago

Meh, looks like every other playfield. Time to start making machines based off the design of Pinball Circus.

#26 6 years ago

It's T2 from another universe!

42
#27 6 years ago

I swear Ritchie must do the art for his own pins.

#28 6 years ago

Playfield is a freaking joke. Cabs look pretty good from the grainy image though.

#29 6 years ago

Focus, FOCUS.

#30 6 years ago

I overlooked the bottom arching ramp. Maybe the ball rolls around as speculated like Getaway.

11
#31 6 years ago

Chris Franchi said 2 weeks ago to temper your enthusiasm on the art.

Disney/Lucasfilm insists on using their existing library of artwork. So nothing hand drawn.

#33 6 years ago
Quoted from Sinestro:

DI is a huge flop.

Don't let a companies sales figures ruin your chance to enjoy a game. That's just silly.

#34 6 years ago

The fact that it looks like a Sega / DE pin is awesome IMHO. The tie fighter and death star toys are a nice touch. and I am glad they are basing it off the original films.

#35 6 years ago

how long until we get to see game play i wonder?

I don't. It looks terrible on top of being a flop.

Quoted from huo:

The video shows a short clip of this.

23
#39 6 years ago

God, why can't Ritchie get a decent art package?

24
#40 6 years ago

art looks terrible

#42 6 years ago

No C3PO above flippers

#43 6 years ago
Quoted from jeffpm:

I suspect in the case of SW, ST, and GOT, rights holders wanted Stern to use art from their approved asset catalog.

Myself, I think the art is alright. It's right along the lines of what I was expecting.

Lit siderails on the LE

#46 6 years ago

Premium on this one.

#47 6 years ago

I dunno I think the art looks good. Way better than Stern Star Trek but not nearly as good as Ghostbusters. I'm sure it will be a killer pin.

#48 6 years ago

Where does the left ramp go? It's hard to tell from the image.

EDIT: I see it now.

#49 6 years ago

Art is meh, but the inserts are "out of proportion" big. Cut their size by 1/3 and the pin would look better.

#50 6 years ago

Art may not be that bad in person, they showed a close up and looks drawn:

sw.JPGsw.JPG

Premium looks best all around, as mentioned above, I'm sure it will do well - and will probably be fun

Bit better rez than above:
