What do you think? I think they both look incredible.

The Catwoman is pretty lame all they changed was the translite and head art it seems they could have at least done a Catwoman cabinet artwork. Munsters looks nice I'm still a big fan of the Black and white art though but it's nice people will have a choice now. It does seem that some Munsters LE owners are getting screwed over now as If they just wanted a lower play field and a colored version of the game they could have just got this premium.

Lame for both

Agree here

More options are never bad. I love how batmans head is turned and all the villians are gafawing. Sexualizing women while we bat our balls around . Pinball is primevil

#7 4 years ago

I think I made my last NIB LE purchase with Stern.

#8 4 years ago

More options always good and I really like the Catwoman game. It's incredibly rare we see any kind of offering from pinball manufacturers focused upon a female character so I think this is a step in the right direction.

Munsters kinda blows so don't care either way. Again, good for buyers to have an option.

#9 4 years ago

Color Munsters is good, id still prefer a black and white but the option is nice. A Pro Batman 66 would have been nice.

#10 4 years ago

Has pricing been announced for either?

#11 4 years ago
Quoted from Gritty:

Why does this push you over the edge? No trolling, just curious.

I"m an LE owner and I could not care less about another version of the game.

Multiple editions of the same game seem to be the norm now.

Quoted from KevInBuffalo:

Probably $11500, I hear that is what new models of old games sell for nowadays

Only if glitter has been added!

#14 4 years ago

The more BM66 the better, I say. Everyone seems to love the game, but I haven't personally put much time on it. Maybe secondary market "first run" BM66s will be cheaper?

#15 4 years ago

where are these announcements?

not on their website.. not on their fb page... not on their news page... not on their twitter...

They are just premium models. Same as others I would think.

It was officially announced to Stern Insiders today.

ahh.. so that's what people get to pay for

I'm holding out for the Eartha Kitt version.

Well how about Wonder Woman pinball?

Clearly a reaction to slow Munsters sales, but IMO a misread. B&W looks incredible...reason it's not selling is due to people not liking the code. But hey, options are good...now Prem buyers have a choice.

13
#23 4 years ago

Not that i'm a munsters buyer, but if I where, I would be happy I held off buying color LE vs black/white Premium.

I bet there are going to be pissed off LE buyers that wished they could have saved some money. Also, pissed off Black/White premium buyers that wished they had this option sooner.

Quoted from brenna98:

I might be in the minority, but I had the choice of all three models and purposely went with the Prem for the BW model. If anything this really sets off the LE buyer's, which should have been the only model in color with a lower play field. Now the difference between the two is HD glass ok that's a plus, shaker motor meh, $30.00 kenwood speakers, and a signed certificate that you can use for toilet paper in a pinch.

Sterns move should have been address the Dwight code situation first then release additional models as increase demand starts to arise..

Can you picture if they only run color models now, then which ones are truly limited. Bad move on Sterns part at the moment and LE owners have a valid right to be annoyed IMHO.

small number if any IMO. All the hate on the B/W was before
release... and once people had it in hand... most were pro for it
rather than against it. Honestly I don't even notice it either way
when playing one vs the other.

even if munsters came with automatic holographic mind control let alone colour it still wouldn't improve sales!

How much more could they strip that game down to make it a Pro?

The Stern LE model is dead.

The last good LE was Star Trek. Munsters LE made a slight return. But it’s dead to me here on out.

#29 4 years ago

Munsters LE is what should have been in the Pro!

Quoted from mnpinball:

Will see.. people still lining up to buy these wildly overpriced LE's with almost no extra features, and it seems like the majority of the LE buyers are content.

This is a sad way to make a buck on Stern's part. Munster sales must have been in the grave and screwing over the LE buyers by releasing the premium in color in hopes to resurrect sales will cost them in the long run. I seriously HATE when companies release variants after the fact.

I bought an LE thinking this was the only way to get the lower PF in color. I was told this by Stern at the Stern booth at CES........

#32 4 years ago

To me this reads as Stern had a lot of unsold Munsters LE playfields. It was super weird that they made the LE the color and the Premium the black and white, and then later increased the LE from 500 to 600. Their sales projections must have been all over the place.

The Catwoman version is kinda cool though. I wonder if they'd do a Joker/Riddler/Penguin version, but I sorta doubt it. Maybe a version that more prominently features all the major and minor villains? Batman 66 is a great game and the license must be dirt cheap. Stern will make it for years.

BKSOR LE's are at #600... Appears that is the new edition size going forward for LE's.

That's the cap, but does anyone think they'll make all of them? When they did The Beatles run they only made half of the platnium and diamonds, and will allegedly finish off the run some other time (if there is even any demand for it)

#36 4 years ago

Surprise!

#37 4 years ago

Make LE’s great again 2020

11
#39 4 years ago

Wish they would've done cab artwork for the Catwoman edition too, but I like it better than the normal BM66 art package. As for the Munsters Premium in color, anyone who didn't see this coming forgot about TWD Premium, Metallica Monsters Premium, AC/DC Luci, etc.

Catwoman signature edition seems half baked for me, I am disapointed

Funny how the most profitable pinball company also seems like the most desperate all the time.

If they put the better speakers in the Premium I'd be done with LE's.

They set themselves up. Not pinsiders at any fault. They/we pay the bucks for these luxury items.

They are using these in the LE's, they are $30.00 shipped. You can switch them over easily.

How much better do they sound? Can you tell? Put them in a pro?

I own a munsters Premium B&W and still prefer the B&W. It's what makes the game unique and I think it looks great.

I also just bought a BM66 being delivered to the Golden State Pinball Festival which has the original artwork and I have no regrets.

To switch them there are few things needed like 5.25 mounting
plates, new spacer and gasket. They do sound a little better
then the Prem speakers, i'm guessing Pro has the same ones.
However the best bang for your buck (well to me anyway) is the external
Polk PSW powered sub-woofer when on sale for 69.00 shipped. That
really makes the machines crank.

#50 4 years ago

If the Catwoman edition is the same price as the regular premium than thats fine. Munsters color premium is a swift kick to the nuts and yet people keep lining to hand stern checks
