"Crank It Up" is lit at the scoop after you shoot the first lit colored arrow shot of any mode.

You hit all of the A-E-R-O-S-M-I-T-H targets to light "Mystery" at the scoop. This will also light your shot multipliers (the green "X" circles on each of the playfield shots). "Mystery" can also award added time to a mode just like "Crank It Up" does.
More tips from the video:
Shoot both orbit shots to light locks for "Love In An Elevator" multiball.
The easiest modes are "Walk This Way", "Rats In The Cellar", and "Back In The Saddle".
The hardest mode is "Sweet Emotion" as it takes 12 shots to finish & they all need to be done on one go-around within the same ball.
FYI, current Aerosmith Pro code version is 0.90.2 as of last week's Dead Flip stream.

Added over 7 years ago: First off, clarification. I finally answered the question of whether double/triple scoring is available on the pro and the answer is NO. There is, however, double scoring during Toys mb by getting a ball in the toy box. But it was stated earlier in this thread that spelling AEROSMITH is what activates double scoring on the pro when in fact spelling AEROSMITH lights pf multipliers and your next shot locks in that multiplier for the remainder of the ball.

If they're not working for you, it may be an issue with your particular device. I had an issue getting them to play on my phone, but then they worked fine when I tried my laptop.
Don't forget that you also have the option to short-plunge the "Toys" lock shot, as done here by Josh Sharpe (starts at the 1 hour 17 minute 36 second mark):
Even though this is done on a Premium, you can also do it on the Pros.

It's possible that they have made some mode adjustments since then.

You earn coins based upon how well you do on a mode. Hitting shots in combo are worth more coins. Crank it up is like "away team" (in Star Trek) as the mode gets harder but the shots become worth more and double the coins. The more coins you earn the more valuable the super modes are.

I have a shaker motor in the Pro, and it goes off when you start multiball, when you hit jackpots, when you hit the scoop to start "Crank It Up", when you start "Super" modes, etc.
You definitely notice it's there if you're making your shots & progressing through the game.
