So nobody here remembers 3 years ago when the same things were being said about Metallica right up until people saw the artwork?

Yeah I'm not saying Aerosmith is the greatest band or anything, just that people should think about it in perspective.
They're actually far more mainstream than Metallica, and stayed revelant in media a lot longer as well (despite bring older!) Again, not comparing quality of bands, but BRANDS.
"I'll never buy an Aerosmith pin!"
(sees game with Dirty Donnie artwork and an LCD)
"SHUT UP AND TAKE ALL MY MONIES!"
Stern LCD, I'm going to guess twice the height and maybe slightly wider (will fit inside their existing sloped panel)
I agree MikeS.
People here have REALLY short memories. Nobody gave a rat's ass about Metallica... until they saw it.
Aerosmith - with trippy 70's Dirty Donnie art and the first LCD - would have all the haters whipping out their wallets.
We don't even know if this is the next title. But this topic is still a great commentary and analysis on people's thoughts regarding pinball theme choices.
Like 'em or hate 'em, Aerosmith is one of those bands where if you hear a song, you know immediately that it's them. For whatever reason, their music is very popular in movie soundtracks and advertisements. The average person on the street is going to recognize more Aerosmith songs in general than they would KISS, Metallica or Iron Maiden.
I like to pop in here every month and remind people that nobody, and I mean NOBODY gave a crap about Metallica... until they saw it.
Aerosmith - regardless of quality - is a much more mainstream band with very well known songs.
If rumors are true and this is Borg, Lyman, Dirty Donnie and first color Stern display, a lot of haters are going to be whipping out their wallets.
Middle aged men are the biggest demographic for home sales so yes, games are targeted at them. It's why an obsolete band like KISS can sell while a rumored completed Hunger Games pin gets turned into WWE.
I would agree the themes should aim a little younger, say ages 30+. There's no point going lower than that because kids (who didn't grow up with pinhead parents) don't give a damn and won't drop $1 into a machine let alone 5k.
Even then it's a gamble. 30 year old would buy the hell out of a used Pokemon or Power Rangers pin, but that pin would never exist used because a 50 year old won't buy it new, which means it never gets made to begin with.
Saw a group of college guys having a high old time playing WhySnow's GB on location. They were stains on their daddy's porn mags when the movie came out. Pins are just *cool* and that transcends themes and generations.
Crap I contradicted myself on that post!
I guess what I meant was, you don't have to base a pin off what a 20 year old likes in order for them to enjoy playing pinball. They care far less about the theme than we do.
Quoted from PinMonk:Really? They have to be second-guessing that decision while staring at the piles of WWE unsold stock. Is that the only LE that never came close to selling out?
Mistake there was making a pin that cost more to buy than the target demo's trailer homes.

I'm a regular Nostradamus.
