I find it quite baffling that Stern has the time to pack up games and send them to a show and set them up. But can't take a few minutes to take photos and get them posted on their page before the blurry ones start leaking out.
How do they not know this is going to happen?
Oh well, business as usual.

#729 3 years ago

We just chatted with Stern and they are sticking to their official time table to release the pics.
At least they do have them ready to go.

#803 3 years ago

Love that you can choose 3,4,5 or 6 ball multiball.
Also noticed some of the photos show inside side art even on the pro model.
Wonder if this will be extra like Ghostbustes? I'm sure it will be.
The video looks awesome.
Hope that ball lock launcher stays accurate.
Code seems much farther along then Batman at the moment.

With Ac/dc you still had the juke box to change out, which Leon did for me and i still haven't installed it.

Funny.
Now get in there and change that sucker out. lol
And on topic. Can't wait for my Aerosmith Pro to show up. Very excited for this one.

$400 for the Aerosmith topper

That's funny.
When I first saw the photo I told my brother they will probably want about $400 for this $50 topper. Lol

#1551 3 years ago

We are going with mirror blades on this one.
But you can't go wrong either way because the playfield is so wide open.
Art will look just as awesome.

Stern has it.....steve richie doing it.

I have confirmed this as well.
Done deal.
Now I have not heard if it is next out or not but it has been awhile for Ritchie now.

#1799 3 years ago

Any more news of Pro models arriving in the states?
So far I have only heard of an Arcade in California and Logan's in Chicago.
But Logan's is just a test place and does not really count.

I was told middle of March

Thanks.
Seems longer then I would have imagined, but oh well, could be worse.

Quoted from Jimmyd044:

Any updates?? Still waiting on more reviews as these arrive on location.

We were told ours should ship next week.
We shall see.

#1828 3 years ago

Some of the domestic Pro's started shipping out of the Stern Factory yesterday.
Hopefully we will start seeing the unboxings soon.

#1856 3 years ago
Quoted from Frax:

Oh, and if anyone wants to share what they were quoted or PAID for a pro...shoot me a PM please. I'm kind of curious. I do get the feeling that even without Lyman this could end up being another Metallica in terms of code. Lonnie has solid bones in there, I think, just need an artist to come in behind him and sculpt the masterpiece around it.

No reason to PM.
The distributors can't post prices but we can all day long.
We called three different places and were quoted $5199 shipped from all 3.

#1891 3 years ago

Just came across this in the latest issue of Play Meter magazine.

#1898 3 years ago

Just found out ours is shipping out on Friday.
So of course it will most likely arrive when we are at nationals is Dallas. lol.

Quoted from PW79:

Just turn the adjustable feet when no one is looking

I was thinking the same thing. I have leveled lots of location games. Lol.
But I understand not everyone wants to crawl under a game all the time.

Quoted from chuckcasey:

We're unboxing a AERO Pro next Thursday at Arcade Expo 3.0 in California. Marco Specialites will have one on DEMO (and for sale $4700). I'll be helping with the setup and testing.
Any special advice for an AERO Pro setup or just the standard stuff? Any ramp adjustments? Anything?

So far it has not been like Ghostbusters with a million fixes necessary. lol
Everyone I have heard about so far has been plug and play.

Those are killer cards.
Will be printing some later

Quoted from lllvjr:

Hey guys,
Ok so hooking up a sub you can still do with my spike sub kits $35... the sub kit taps directly off the board at the same location on spike 1 and the new spike 2 board. So batman 66, Aerosmith buyers don't have to wait. We have them in stock.
Headphone kits for the new spike 2 board we currently don't have ready. They will be ready this summer. Our current spike hp kit will cover from wwe to ghostbusters. Bm66,Aerosmith, Star Wars will be the new spike 2 board.
One other thing. The plates for our pp2 Mac and spike kits are a perfect match because they are real factory plates that we custom punch. If anyone is ever missing a blank we have them on our site.
Thanks,
Lorenzo

Thanks so much for clearing that up Lorenzo. I am the one that just emailed you this morning about this.
We have your headphone and sub jacks on all of our Stern games. First thing we do to them.
Is it true what I read above from someone that Stern removed the headphone jack off the main board that they have on all the prior Spike releases?
If so, some of their decisions boggle my brain.

#2247 3 years ago

Unboxing our game tonight.
Perfect timing.

#2258 3 years ago

I only took two set up photos.
We all had events to attend last night so we had to set it up pretty late.
But wow, this game is stunning.
The code out the box was 1.0
I had 1.03 downloaded but have not installed it yet.
The few games we played on the older code played great. Only encountered one bug where the screen got stuck on a bonus count and would not change until the next player drained a ball.
We will be streaming this game live Sunday night on our Twitch Stream. 9-11 CST.

Took the post out between pops. Plays so much better.added clear rubbers and colored posts.

We were just looking at that post between the pops today and wondering why it was even there. lol

By the way, has anyone gotten to KISS Army Multiball on this game yet?

I wonder what it will be like after hearing Walk This Way for another 1000 times.

I find it funny that people bring this up on music pins at all.
On regular games you get to hear the exact same music over and over with no choice at all. But for some reason that is just fine.

Anyone print the rule cards that McLean posted in this thread yet?
If so what program did you use and what settings to get them to size?
I am used to the ones that are a .pdf that print actual size. These do not.

#2437 3 years ago
Quoted from Sanfordpk:

I had to put the file into Photoshop and resize it.

I only have "Paint" that will resize.
Really like the cards posted here but I don't want to waste a ton of ink guessing the settings.
Anyone have them in a PDF to size already?

#2441 3 years ago
Quoted from John_I:

I'm getting pretty good at scaling in Gimp and then dropping the file into Microsoft publisher. Once in there you can use the rulers to make absolute sure the cards are the right size and then save as a pdf.
Print the attached at "actual size". Don't print out of the browser. Save the file and use Acrobat if possible.

Thanks. That worked great.

#2460 3 years ago

Just installed mirror blades on this bad boy as well as the two instruction cards from this thread.
Also have a Modfather candy apple shooter rod on the way.

Is this the first game where stern went with a surface mounted start button?

Yes. And I have already accidentally leaned on it during a multiplayer game and reset the damn thing.
It really needs to be recessed.

#2684 3 years ago

Like some others have done already we removed the stupid post between the pop bumpers that keeps the ball from getting out of the left orbit area.
Game play is much better without that post.
Loving this game.
Now if we can just get some more good code that adds some skill shots, and some deeper rules like Metallica, this game will be over the top.

#2686 3 years ago
Quoted from John1210:

Some like that post out. Personally I think it makes it too easy to farm out toybox multiballs all day.

To each his own.
We have played the game for two weeks now with the post out and have not noticed any easier Toybox multiballs.
In fact now the ball can go back into the left orbit now instead of always popping back into the toy box area all the time.

#2691 3 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

Just don't brag about any high scores if you have altered the factory settings!

We (My family), like the fine folks at Papa, make our games as hard as we can.
We routinely remove things like the center post on our Spiderman, the left outlane post on TZ and raise all our outlane post to the upper most position. We also turn off all extra balls.
If someone gets a high score on our games they deserve to brag all day long.
Not that we ever would though. Except to have fun with our friends.
I stand by my comment that Aerosmith is a much better playing game without that post.

#2694 3 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

I've heard that it's pretty cool if you remove that post but I'm weird about changing factory settings. I shouldn't be that way but I want to play it the way it was designed to be played.

It's all cool.
By all means leave it in.
We host a lot of tournaments. And as long as everyone is playing the same game it really does not matter.

#2761 3 years ago
Quoted from jathomp22:

I was playing this weekend and was one song away from Medley so I figured I would just craddle the ball to get to Medley but the timer stopped counting down. Has anyone else seen this or did I just have one to many beers? Does Aerosmith not let you craddle the ball and timeout songs? As soon as I shot the safest middle ramp shot, it started counting down again.

That is a feature on a lot of games.
Makes you actually play the game instead of standing around and timing out modes.
Works great in tournaments but might be a bit frustrating on your home pin.

#2785 3 years ago
Quoted from Chuckwebster:

I just picked up an AS with 1.03 code- it still has smart missiles. I haven't seen them often but have been awarded them from the mystery scoop.
a question for other AS owners-- during the multiball start the spot light on Jacky doesnt come on when he starts to shake. Is this normal behavior? Seems to me it should be like Sparky on Metallica and have some sort of light show featuring Jacky.

We noticed the same thing.
Made me think the spotlight was broken.
Buy noticed it was on at other times.
Really strange.

Mirror blades look great on my AS.

I agree. The mirrors look awesome. Plenty of good open area to reflect.

#3024 3 years ago
Quoted from T7:

There are "Smart Bombs" that you can use to get any major lit shot - but they are only handed out as mystery awards currently, and not very often. They definitely should make someway to acquire the Smart Bombs. Possibly making the "Lock" skill shot would be a good way to award "Smart Bombs".

Or the underused coins.

#3029 3 years ago
Quoted from KingBW:

I got skill shot awards making it into the back door to the lock on launch on a premium - the pin brought to shows from Tilt. There was a animation for it. I did not have a lock prequalified each of those times.

That is encouraging. Hopefully a test code. It is certainly not in the latest Pro code release.

#3051 3 years ago
Quoted from rotordave:

Gomez was VERY animated in the discussion of cities at his TPF chat. He went out of his way to say that the cities were only ever meant to change the callouts, and "the internet" had decided they were supposed to be something else. There's probably footage of it on YouTube, check it out.

Could easily be true.
But why not just tell everyone that once the issue got so huge?
They have known forever now that it was a big point of contention.
Why they let everyone bash them over something they can fix in two seconds is beyond me.
