When I got my game the player 3 display was flaky and I noticed some hack had cut one of the harnesses that all or most of it went to player 3 display; they twisted the wires together and electrical taped.

Yesterday I soldered and shrink wrapped all of the hacked wires hoping the display would come back but it didn't. I wanted to get rid of the hack regardless. I switched the connector from player 3 to another display and it displayed properly. I would like to check the display to see if it can be fixed. I saw there are some test points on it but I couldn't find anything on Pinwiki about what the test values should be. Does anyone know where I can look to find out what the test points should read or any other diagnosing I can do?

Thanks! I just checked it and have 173v at TP2 and 5v at TP1. Is there anyway to tell if the glass is bad or what should I check next? I looked at the header pins and it appears someone either replaced or reflowed them at one time and they appear to be in good condition.

Some great info in there. I used this same guide to get ALL 6 displays in a Stern Lightning working great. I thought I was going to have to shell out the cash for some replacement LED units, but all the displays now work clear and bright.

Some of it was re-flowing header pins. Some of it was components on the display boards. A LOT of it was re-pinning connectors at the displays and at the driver board.
