I have noticed that others have made this work - but it seems like some people cut wires or other things rather than make a small wiring harness to make a Stern 5v DMD work in Bally Williams pinball.

I have a newer Stern display (red) that I have from a machine I put a color DMD in and I thought this would look nice in Getaway. Just curious if anyone every made the small wiring harness and plug conversions between displays? It would cost me more to buy / ship molex connectors to myself than if someone already made this.

I see another guy made a plug - just thought I would ask. Yes I get taxing the 5v on my game, but I have the Kahr board installed so I think it should be fine. I would hope someone made this harness or would sell it versus me buying a $1-2 of plugs and paying $8 for shipping from Marco or someone. I guess I would rather pay $10-15 total to someone who made the harness already.

    Thought I would ask...

Out of stock - that is exactly what I was looking for....maybe they will restock it some day. Thanks a ton!

Invite me over to play some time, and I'll bring the parts with me.

Better - if I wait to finish Congo the house is getting filled up again. I almost there on Congo another couple weeks....may be done. Just have the cabinet decals and reassembly to do.

I will take that deal...thanks Ron!

Yes. I've created the equivalent. I use the 5V display as a general test display for many systems. For some reason, when I attach the one I have to a Data East MPU, the image doesn't render correctly. The lower line of the display seems to follow the "OR" function for all dots in the column.

I have a second 5V display that I can test to see if the results can be duplicated.

Hi chris, i just noticed this on 3 different DE mpus for 3 different games and also on a whitestar.

The lowest line of the panel has some weirdly reprated dots from the highest line and if you look closely at the fonts, there is an added line under each character.

Oddly its a stern display that doesnt seem to be backwards compatible on a Nascar..
