Wow, noticed no club for 24 & apparently low production run from stern, As usual form this era, cabinet & back box art is woeful, i can just live with the cut & paste play field art, Chloe call outs are lacking a bit of urgency but all that aside its a great game, has some tight shots especially the sniper & safe house shot, like the 4 drops the back ones are a bit hard to view due to the helicopter & seem to get some brick shots from the closest one,
Steve Ritchie sleeper
Feel free to post up some pics/mods etc

Really enjoyed mine. Only sold it to feed my addiction.

I enjoyed my 24, sadly I sold it. Really regret that one leaving.....

The safe house drop & switch targets are very hard to see while playing, removed the plastic helicopter & now way better, heli is way to big.

I also miss and regret selling this one. Good fun underrated game imho.

Not many machines out there and the main reason is most people are not into the theme or have never watched or seen the show. It really helps to love a theme and be into the show. I love the show and I love my 24-it is a Steve Ritchie classic. Backhanding the Sniper during hurry-up is very rewarding.

Anybody know how Many Multinalls the Pin has? Yesterday i get a 2 Ball Multiball. I mesn it was a Scene. Is that right? I know only the 3 Main Multiballs.

#11 5 years ago

Nobody knows???

#12 5 years ago

Could it have been on scene 6 & with the front 2 drop targets

#13 5 years ago

Count me in!! I had always wondered why no club thread was here. I was a huge fan of the "original" show at the time so this was a must have for me. The reboot was "meh" at best. It just wasn't the same without old Jack.

#14 5 years ago

Yes i meha at Scene 6 or 7 i get a 2 ball Multiball and on Scene 12 or so.

Thought I would revived this. Joined the club today. Still need to level it. Mine appears to have planking on the cab, but otherwise nice. Been awhile since I have owned a modern stern, but are the cabinets more likely to plank? I have had a few pass through my hands over the years and the majority seem to have had some level of it.

#16 5 years ago

Looks to be very common with this era of stern, mine has it & honestly i thought it was the art work that was slightly cracking up, not the cab

Looking it over that seems to be the case. You do not feel it if you run your fingers over it. Still have not leveled it or put a game on it. Hoping I like this one as I took it as trade without having played it in years.

#18 5 years ago

I have a nice on for sale
I dont have the space for it and its in storage for a few weeks now

To be honest the cab planking doesn't worry me & looks ok & not getting worse over time, the game is fun with some rewarding tight shots, you can back hand the spinner as well, loving the call out's

Just picked up a nice "24" . Finishing up LED'S and they look great. Game is way under rated. Fun shots and great SR flow. Ripping the spinner is great.

Any home-use owners looking to change things up? Have a mint RBION available:

#22 5 years ago

Played this a bunch on location. Some fun, tight shots in places. Sniper area is well done. Dreadful implementation of the theme IMO. Chloe callouts are weak at best. Glad that people are enjoying it, another SR pin!

#23 5 years ago

I have a nice 24 that would be interested in selling for $3800 also open to trades.
Regards,
Al

#24 5 years ago

I have been debating letting mine go, but WA is a bit far

#25 5 years ago

I picked up a 24 in nice condition from a bowling hall 1.5 hours outside oslo. Playfield is very nice, cab has some scratches / wear at some spots. Need to change rubbers, replace bulbs with LEDs and probably add some spots for middle playfield and some extra light for sniper area.

Set to hard, no ball save, tight tilt, then its more challenging and fun!

Does anyone know how the rules related to the Escape lane is? At start it is lit, and first time the ball goes in there you get 250.000. Is there a way to relight it? Does it advance somehow or is it just what it is..250.000 and no more to it?

I have just ordered LEDs for it, and also I created a 24 rubber kit at titanpinball, if anyone should be interested:

I realized that the rubber kit diagram and number were totally wrong, so I have manually corrected the chart and updated the kit with the correct amount, also done some customizations as red flipper rubbers, and added an extra blue TOTAN rubber sleeve if you want to make the right ramp and sniper lane more challenging (tournament play etc).

The updated kit is here: https://www.titanpinball.com/kits/index.php/view/id/965

Although this club seems very dead for the moment, maybe someone can have use for this

#28 5 years ago

Is the complete manual available online anywhere? I can only find partial ones, even at Stern.

Looking for the solenoid table information. What transistor is associated with solenoid #14 Sniper?

#29 5 years ago

Does anyone have or can make a scan or at least good straight-on full image pic of the right head graphic? Mine is black on the machine I picked up... wonder what happened.

Anyone have the solenoid table? Bueller? Ha, I wonder how many of us in this thread...

You didn't think #6 rubber should be bigger than 1 1/2"? My machine was missing that rubber, and trying to install 1 1/2" seems way too tight. I think I will put 1 3/4" there, although I don't have one on hand to try.

#31 5 years ago

Wrote my friend about my 24 pick-up... thought I'd paste here too...

I just set up 24. Feels kind of empty and cheap like Avatar, but just like Avatar it's just fun anyway. Definitely a good swap for me, getting rid of RBION and putting 24 in place. RBION is cool, but theme just didn't vibe for me.

24 only had a few small issues: couple of switches not working were just lose wires, and coil in the sniper toy has melted sleeve, but that's a just for-show toy. Might need to do the associated transistor too... probably. I didn't know 24 is SAM: was a pleasant surprise, better audio than Whitestar.

Just need to do LED upgrades and speaker upgrade and it will be pretty nice.

Thanks. Does anyone have the PDF manual that has the main tech reference tables: coils, switches. That part of the manual (white pages?) doesn't seem to be available online anywhere.

I might actually have to buy a hardcopy.

Might be, i have not changed that rubber, as i am waiting for the full rubberkit before i start removibg the back ramps and mechs. I will post when i have confirmed what is best, and if necessary update the kit

I had only played this game a couple of times a few years ago and then didn't have access to it. Now that I have it, my impression is that it seems too easy but still fun. It's multiball after multiball. I only played a handful of games, but already had everything lit except Nuke Jackpot and Master Agent and beat the previous GC scoring 185 million. I don't even know the rules yet, just shooting lit stuff. Maybe previous players weren't very good. Outlanes are mid-position, but don't seem to have cheap drains like many machines.

The flashers are awesome on this machine. They were almost all dead when I got the machine, and I put in all 5050 13-SMDs and now it's crazy. That kind of flash is notably missing from Spike games.

I have set up the game really hard, so for my sake its very challenging:
- tight tilt
- turn off ball save
- open outlanes max and remove outlane post rubbers
- replace right post rubber of right ramp with a thicker rubber from TOTAN, this makes sniper lane and right more difficult.

I tested the rubbers now and it seems correct, no trouble fitting 1 1/2 it on.

Yeah, I can fit it too, it's just much more than the average stretch. Leave it at rest and compare how much distance it has to stretch compared to the 1 1/4 next to it. Even in your picture you can see it looks pretty strained compared to the neighbor. I'll add a 1 3/4 when I order and compare, I think it would be better.

Of course, You are free to do exactly what you want Please tell me how it is with the 1-3/4.
The old rubber was also a 1-1/2, although at this point it was much "larger" due to age and wear hehe.

Just joined the 24 club this week! A friend of mine found a really nice example with low plays for a great price. He didn’t have room for it, and his young kids didn’t like the theme. So I bought it from him. My wife and I are trying it out. It may be a keeper. We like sleeper pins like CSI, so this one might stay.

Fun game with a wide open design, yet the shots are pretty tight. I find this pin to be a real challenge. If you don’t focus and really aim carefully, you won’t advance. Some pins are easier to just keep the ball moving and you’ll score well. This pin requires skill.

The cost-saving measures so common at Stern in the late 2000’s is evident. The artwork is so-so, the callouts are unintentionally funny. And yet, this is a fun pin to try to achieve the 2 wizard modes. I’ve ordered blades and I’m replacing the sniper. Has anyone found target decals for this?

You’ve got 24 hours to figure this sh*t out, Jack.
Oh, by the way, this game is pretty rad.
Glad the pinside ratings are so bad on it. Let’s a guy get in at a solid price.

It's really not a bad game. I usually don't change settings on games, but on this one I did to make starting multiballs harder.
Think it makes the game play a lot better, otherwise its multiball city.

Also wish they didn't have a timer on the mole awards, maybe keep it per ball instead.

Just joined the club again. Sold my 24 last summer and had a chance to add a HUO, minty version. I really like the speed and difficulty of this pin. You have to really focus on your shots. The sniper shot is brutal, and the suitscase isn’t a gimme. I’ve gotten to Save the President a few times, but never the final wizard mode. Cool game!

Congrats on your 24! Sorry you are letting CSI go. We added a really nice 24 a few weeks ago and placed it next to our CSI too! Both are fun pins with good themes. Congrats and Enjoy!

Hi,

Yeah I love my CSI but got an offer on it I can’t really refuse, I will see me regretting it in the future

Love the Topper on yours, next on my list for sure, will have to get it shipped over but that does look good.

Thank you for your reply

Adrian

I can understand that, sometimes you have to let a game go if the price is right. We really like CSI, it’s one of the games we’ve had longest. 24 is a fun game too.

Thanks, I like the topper too, and the alternate translite.

Enjoy your 24!
