Hi I'm looking to restore this space mission em. I never repaired an EM before. I did some reading and can Identify the major parts and how there supposed to act and as I check the steppers to see if there are binding I came across this one and am a little baffled.
is says its the coin stepper and as I moved it I can see it's sluggish and will need cleaning to work properly. but I cant see where the home position is. it seems to stop in a place were there are no teeth in the gear.(is it normal to be missing teeth?).. I don't see how it could start from there, with no teeth to grab.. also it has a hard stop you can see at about 5 oclock but for that to actually hit the stop it would bend the leaf switch way backwards.. also the contacts don't look like they line up right either, the leaf switch on the left also appears to be always closed .
was it bent that way to act as free play? ..Thanks for any help in advance .
