I'd start by entering switch test, just to see if it will properly react to =any= switches.

The pops are "special solenoids" in this vintage WMS game.
Compare the coil resistance to other pop coils.
You don't need to remove the diode...but you should pull the solenoid fuse.
Next up is the TIP-122 (TIP-102 equivalent), and the upstream 74xx circuitry that drives it.
