Hi! Hoping someone can help- my stArship trooper is blowing fuse f21. I’m pretty sure it is a problem with the auto launcher. If the auto launch is disconnected, the fuse doesn’t blow. If it is connected, it engages as soon as the machine is turned on and pop goes the fuse instantly. I’ve replaced the diode and I’ve replaced the transistor. I’m at a loss for the next step. Any ideas or suggestions?

May be dumb question, did you change the right transistor?
and does it have a pre-transistor?

According to the manual, the auto plunger is transistor q2, which is the one I changed.... I’m not sure about a pre transistor.... where would that be?

So my Sega games would blow the predriver when the transistor went south, and it also takes the transistor out again, I would just trace the wire if I recall correctly a the predriver is not far away.

Ok, so I have hunted all around and I’m not seeing a pre driver . Also.... I need some help with testing transistors. I keep getting different readings and am finding conflicting information online. Can some one point me in the right way? I know how to use a multi meter and I know how to use a solder iron. I e attached a picture of my multi meter if it helps.. also a pic of my board... the auto plunger according to manual is q2.
