starship trooper! What an underated game!
I bought one, played it and was amazed! Cheezy theme and weird curved backglass but so much potential!!

I tought toys were Nice but unfinished. I just added lights in the front canons( better and nicer than spotlights), lights in the back convoyer, red leds in the fighter missiles and some random leds on the cockroach under the reckon. It tooks some times (and beers) but it add a lot.

That third button flipper is a must!!!

Looks really good! Fun Sega pin right there!

I had an SST, but traded up for a Sopranos. I love Sopranos, but I miss my SST too. I always thought about modding the toys, but never got to it. I love what you did. Looks great!

Thanks Chris.
It's the kind of game you can see They used cheap toys. As I tought, All toys were some old chinese left over

Actually, all the mechanisms in both front canons are were still there to insert a projectile and shoot( springs and all!!)! In the back convoyer there,s a place to add batteries

Sega...

Still a great great game!!

Great fun game, I did the same mod on the one ships lazer cannons, wired it so red led's would flash with ramp shots.
Also got rid of the loosy plunger/auto launcher assy, which drained more balls than it did getting balls to the top PF, installed a kicker coil and 3" launch button

Cool mods, I especially like the laser cannons. This is the first pin I've ever owned and I've been really impressed with the game.

Wdennie, I'd love to know more about the auto launcher assembly replacement that you did. The multi balls are so fun on this game but it is f'n ridiculous how often the balls will drain on auto launch. Do you have part numbers you could share?

Im also very interested in bulletproofing the auto plunger! Whatever it takes!

My guess is that wdennie removed all of the plunger hardware, both electronically controlled and manually controlled, installed an auto-plunger, like AFM for instance, and covered the manual plunger hole with a 3" plunger button, wiring it in such a way that the non-banded side of the coil is grounded when the button is pressed. That would work. Just a guess.

Yep got that right Chris. wire 3" button to ground, and to coil. That way auto plunger will work when game calls for it, and I can launch
when starting. Sega auto launch would bearly if ever, get the ball to the top magnet, and when in muti ball, the balls would just keep draining down the side. Stronger coil didn't help, so figured william's ball launcher's never had a problem, why not give it a try.
