I’m in the process of changing connectors and because of some solenoid issues (among others) am checking pin locations

On the playfield schematic it notes a3j5-15 is top bumper and is (Black-blue). I confirmed that’s the bumper wire color. I don’t see a a3j5-13 on this schem.

On the wiring diagram however it has a3j5-13 as “right bumper” and a3j5-15 as N/u. There’s also a a3j5-9 listed as Left bumper which doesn’t exist.

The connector I changed has the wiring diagram setup.

Which is it?

The manual for Stars is a mess. First three pages are corrections and more are needed. Helped a friend with one recently. The ten chime wouldn't fire and the shoot again light came on when a game was started and stayed on the whole game. Both were mis-pinned connectors. Took us a while to figure it out.

Assuming you cut the wires on the connector in your pic, don't do it that way. Cut one wire from old connector, strip it, crimp on edge connector and stick it in the new connector. One wire at a time. You won't get confused that way and you won't have to look at the manual. If you get interrupted, you can easily pick up where you left off. Cut zip ties on wire bundles to give yourself more room to work, then use zip ties when the new connector is finished to clean things up.

That’s the way I did it, one wire at a time. I just saved the old connectors in case I had to come back.

I found that the white Star special and white Star feature were switched. So since the game was at the Jersey Shore in ‘78 some roger daltrey lookin dude probably couldn’t figure out why he couldn’t ever get the white Star special lit

On a side note the reason I’m going through all this is because after I did all the connectors a whole bunch of stuff stopped working...

Turns out I’m an idiot and put in about 80% of the trifurcons with the tab facing the wrong direction....

If you find some errors, please let me know and I will change them.
I've used PinMame to check some things if it wasn't clear.
