I found my SG a year ago, and i haven't stopped playing it since then.
Crazy challenges with flatmates and friends.
Now that I've bought a new DMD, I've decided to sell it. That was the rule I made.
But honestly, I think I'm gonna miss it!
But hey, I just can't have them all, can I?!

#349 9 years ago

I was sure someone would say that!
But although I have a huge basement, I can't say the same of my budget.
And prices are raising like crazy around here!

Hello fellow Stargate owners !
I recently restored my second one (had sold my first one a few years back, and quickly regretted it)

Now, I have a quick question for you guys :

When in coil test mode, coil 15 : when pressing start, does your pyramid stay up, or does it directly go back down ?
I'm trying to figure out why it doesn't go up during a game while it does react in tests...

Thanks in advance.

cobra18t Nope. I'm talking about the pyramid itself.
It should be lifted and let the glider go forward and then move from left to right.
It just doesn't, and i can see the glider moving under it.

Quoted from zacaj:

Mine goes right back down during test, but works fine during the game

Okay then !
Thanks. Problem must be somewhere else...

Quoted from frisbez:

Check pyramid switch? Game might think the pyramid is open when it's not.

Quoted from zacaj:

It looks like the pyramid actually uses a dual wound coil and EOS, like a flipper, so that it doesn't overheat? If so, maybe there's a problem with the eos, or one of the windings is bad?

Thanks for these info !
I'll get into this in the afternoon.

Well I'm totatlly lost there...

In tests, the pyramid goes up, and the glider goes forward, and on the sides too. But in game, the pyramid doesn't move.
What's also pretty weird is that the glider moves on the sides, behind the pyramid, but it doesn't go forward.

I've looked at the EOS, but it looks ok. I couldn't find a way to test it though, as it's not recognized in the switch test (like the ones for the guards).
I mean, when open, the pyramid doesn't open in tests. When normal, the pyramid reacts. So i assume it is fine.

I wish someone had encountered the same issue.

I might create a thread, as it's probably not the place......

Quoted from sven:

I have the exact same problem, so your wish is granted .
The bad news is that I haven't fixed it (yet).
I did see a topic about this problem once though, but I'm not sure where it was. Can't help you at the moment, but once I get to work on the problem, I'll post it here (I hope you do the same). It might take quite a while though before I get to working on the game.
Good luck, I hope you'll be able to fix it!

Well !
It's a 50/50 situation.
I'm happy that i'm not alone to have that problem.
But as we won't be able to work on it at the same time...

Do u remember if that topic was on Pinside, or somewhere else? (did little point would rather make it a 60/40 )

Okay, so i think i'm onto something (or at least I hope)
I'll need a little help.

So, in a nutshell, my pyramid doesn't lift during Glider mission.

Someone told me the MA1334 sensor board was in charge of this, on the french forum.
with this pic

Notice that the wires that interest me are in 3 and 8.

Now, on my 2A15J1 connector, 8 is empty.

Could someone PLEASE check theirs and let me know, or show me, what wire they have there ???

Hmm ! Thanks !
I realized I was looking at the wrong side of the playfield, thus the wrong board.
So i changed the MA2108 with a MA1338 without the jumper, but nothing changed.
Still no move from that bloody pyramid in game...

Thanks anyway @bonk
