Newbie here. Picked up a SG with some issues. Left flipper assembly was completely missing when purchased. Purchased and installed parts, left flipper button switch was also replaced. Start up and blows F22 fuse when I hit the flipper button. The flipper button does work fine when in test mode. EOS switch is closed while flipper is relaxed. Pics of wiring, not sure if I'm wired wrong? What should I check next? Any help would be great. Thanks,DSC02932.JPGDSC02932.JPGDSC02933.JPGDSC02933.JPG

Quoted from vilant:

Don't know how an original Gottlieb was wired, but when my Williams was doing the same type of thing, it was the flipper control board. I would test the transistors on the board, you may have one or more bad ones. If it is the board and you don't know how to do board work, I would see if Rottendog makes a replacement or send it to someone who knows how. Here's a link on how to troubleshoot and test

Thanks, I looked at it and nothing burnt or obvious but didn't check anything with a meter. Thanks for the link, i'll start there.

Quoted from thedefog:

When you say the flipper button works in test mode, you do mean in switch test it recognizes the button being pressed, or that the flipper actuates in conjunction with pressing the left cabinet button?

The button does not move the flipper at all. The flipper is dead. The button/switch only works in test mode to scroll through the menu's.

Yes, parts from PBR. Have new meter on order. My POS won't let me check a diode. I'll follow up once the new arrives. Thanks for the help so far.

I did look at the Q relay. It looks to be functioning, however I have not metered anything. Checked the switches to make sure they were opening and closing with the coil operation. Both slings are dead also. (Both coils melted plastic sleeves inside). Has me thinking there could be a connection if the Q relay fires both slings/flippers?

Update... Shorted diode on flipper coil. Replaced and now it's going. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Still have to deal with the dead slings. I'll start a new post for them
