I stopped after ng++
I did all faction quests on first playthru and rushed the second 2 main storylines and all I can say is…meh.
Feels like a 10yr old game, good for fallout nostalgia vibes but little else.
Playing cyberpunk 2.0 now and it is unbelievable compared to “midfield.” Im gonna wait til a major update until I would consider another play.

I downloaded Cyberpunk after reading about the 2.0 and Liberty City pack. Was going to jump into that, but only had an hour to game, so I figured I'd go back to Starfield and got caught up again.

I did the unity thing and have taken a break from it since. I figured I will pick it up whenever the DLC drops and they get full on mod support.

For Cyberpunk, I finished the base game a year or so ago I guess. They said with their new DLC you should play the whole game again. Not sure I want to do that...

I feel like Cyberpunk and Starfield are kindred souls in that both of their biggest flaw is that you get this meticulously crafted world that is incredibly engaging and immersive but you're constantly taken out of the immersion by jank.

In Cyberpunk it was the NPCs being dumb as rocks and saying/doing things that make no sense, along with those bizarre looking child NPCs. I remember in Cyberpunk walking to the main apartment building and I saw two guys were arguing with their landlord. It was actually a pretty interesting argument so I stuck around and listened in. When it resolved the landlord said something like OK I'll go fix it and then they all just stood there. 60 hours of playtime later they're still just standing there in the same spot. It totally kills the vibe they were trying to create.

For Starfield it was the character's faces and facial animations, and the way my companion would constantly do weird stuff like randomly sprint forward any time I entered a new area. You get this amazing world where every inch of it feels genuine but then some idiot running into a wall just reminds you it's a silly game.

I keep comparing these games to ones like FFXVI or RDR2 which seem to be the pinnacle of immersion. RDR2 with its incredibly natural NPC interactions and random things you'd stumble upon, and FFXVI with the unbelievably high quality character models and facial animations.

I know it's not entirely fair to compare any games to ones that Rockstar and Square make since they are the cream of the crop when it comes to production value, but I also can't just ignore that those games did things so well and that I am aware of what is possible.

I still ended up putting 50 hours into Starfield, most of which flew by without me even realizing how long I'd spent but I kept wishing that I was 15 again with all the time in the world because it's the kind of game that, if it gets its hooks in you, has nearly endless content.

Cyberpunk was the better game for sure, I'm going to have to revisit and try the update/expansion at some point. I have a 4090 but even with that I feel like I have to wait until a better video card comes out to really enjoy the new graphical features.

Red Dead may have immersion, but also has the jankiest movement of all... and sometimes the a button does this and sometimes it does that and then b or x do this...

The movement never really bothered me in RDR2, it just felt slower and more methodical like they were trying to make it more realistic. The context based button thing is annoying though. That always leads to situations where you're doing things you didn't intend to.

The 2.0 update for cyberpunk changed the game from top to bottom. Im enjoying the second playthru alot, the overhaul of the skill tree’s and cyberware system was a big improvement.
I hope starfield gets a big improvement soon but it just feels so empty and lifeless. My biggest gripe is the ridiculous float thru sparkly bits in a round room for 10 mins to get or upgrade powers I never use. Bethesda needs to scrap that bs and just let u grab a power in the temples without the mindless floating around for no reason

Yeah the temples are really stupid. At minimum it should be updated to give you more feedback to know you're actually doing it right, or reduce it to like 3 sparkly things. The first time I got to one of those temples I was hitting the sparkles but I guess I wasn't doing it fast enough and about 10 minutes later I had to look up a guide to see what I was supposed to do.

For Cyberpunk 2.0 do you think it's worthwhile starting a whole new save file, or can you get the same effect loading a game that was at the last mission of the original version and picking up from there? I typically am done with a game when I finish it and if I come back to it I start a fresh save, but I am not sure I want to throw away 70 hours of play and go through the main story again.

Everything I have seen says to start cyberpunk from scratch since the changes are so in depth.
