*shrug* - I think it's cool. No game has ever done that before...it's unique! Not mindblowing or anything - but unique.

Ya know what's funny? Had this not existed - but someone made it as a mod...everyone would be climbing over each other to buy one!
Quoted from SteveP3:Dear Stern;
Step 1 : google.com
Step 2 : type "blue laser pointer"
Step 3 : ?????
Step 4 : PROFIT
Blue lasers = bad for your eyes.
I wanna see what the moving ship does. Back and forth like the Recognizer on Tron LE? ...or does it "fly and weave" with more complex motion? ...or does it just tip forward when destroyed?
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:I believe it will raise up a bit and go down and forward near the playfield when destroyed RH.
I think it will tip forward but not get near the playfield. It's not gonna be a bash toy like some are speculating. Why would you bash a "crashed" ship? lol
Quoted from Part_3:Ever heard of kicking a dog when it's down?
Hey, I'm the only one who actually seems to like the starfield lol ....I wanna see the ship, too. Maybe I'll like it too!?
Quoted from Part_3:I agree.....I'd love to see the ship crash.
Holding out on judging the starfield till I see it in person.
Oh I get it - you meant the ship...I thought you thought I was joining in the game bashing. Gotcha!
Quoted from pinmister:It is difficult to appreciate something if your mind was already made up. What did you think it would do?
No one's disconnecting shit...look - this thing isn't mindblowing, but it'll be a fun light show. It's like saying you're gonna disconnect the ramp lights on Tron LE or take out the color GI zones on AC/DC Prem/LE. These things don't DO anything...they're not high tech...but they're cool.
(For the record I have not purchased STLE...just trying to be objective)
Quoted from starbase:Wow and I thought in some way it would be interactive. Not sure the premium/LE has anything amazing to put it thousands of dollars above the pro. Guess I may get my second pro, and I am ecstatic I backed out ages ago of my LE.
Interactive how? It's light. Did you want the ball to bounce off of lasers? Or to shoot lasers in your face? LOL
Quoted from eXidy:Should have been posted long ago, Stern dropped the ball on the ST LE promotion. I built the Star Field up quite a bit in my head. But honestly, its exactly what i'd figured it would be
They only "dropped the ball" to us impatient hardcore maniacs. The games still still be made. People still like Star Trek. They've barely started shipping yet....hey, how about that - there will be inventory for people to buy!
Quoted from arctic:Since most stars are small Hydrogen balls (Red Dwarfs) that emit light in the red wavelength, and hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, I think that the red is beyond appropriate- it looks cool, is cool and is a great feature on a Pin.
I would bet that most of the haters here haven't bought one and would complain no matter what Stern came out with.
Haters gonna hate
Also - Red Matter is a big plot point of the first movie!
