Brand new SW Premium machine with current 1.05.0 code factory loaded. I'm getting a technician alert that Nodes 1, 8, 9, 10, and 11 are not responding. The game appears to be functioning fine (although it's brand new to me and I have no previous experience playing this title, so of course I'm wondering if I might be missing something). I have tried running the node bus and board tests in diagnostics, and it tells me no errors with Node 0, but all the others are "not responding."

What should I do?

Thanks,
Mike

Coin door closed?

Obviously, the coin door is open while I'm viewing the tech alerts and attempting to run the node bus tests.

If your nodes are not noding, lights, switches, and coils will not work (nodes control multiple things so it's a mixed bag).
Run a lamp & coil test and see if you're missing anything.

Additional notes:

I had one incident last night when I had a bunch of lights quit working along the right side of the playfield. I checked again and it showed a sixth technician alert, indicating an overcurrent protection fault on node 9 (I think). After restarting the game, the problem (and the alert) went away. The game seems to run normally, although I am pretty sure the hyperspace loop is not engaging. A couple times I got strange clicks but it would not fling the ball around the loop.

With five nodes not responding, I thought it might be a loose cable connector under there, so I lifted the board and checked all the push connectors I could find. Nothing seemed loose, and it was no help. Still the same alerts.

I decided to try reloading the software, and downloded the code from Stern's website. It gave me three .spk files, with suffixes 000, 001, and 002. I saved all three files to a flash drive and tried installing it on the machine. It never seemed to recognize that I had inserted the flash drive, and the code install never started. It just sat there and did nothing. (I have updated code on my other Stern machine, so I know what the process is supposed to look like.)

Really hoping somebody can help me diagnose this. This game is totally stock, and only a week old!

Best advice is to call Chas at Stern support.

The first thing I would do is plug and unplug every mode board cable. One of them is probably loose.

The second thing I would do is contact my distributor, or Stern if I had no distributor.

Turns out this was mostly rookie error on my part. I had not pulled the interlock in the coin door. Nodes are showing no errors. Still not sure about the hyperspace and accelerator thing....

There is a specific hyper loop test in the menus which lets you add balls in and see if they will accelerate around properly. The blue LEDs on the back panel fire in sync with each of the four magnetic coils in the accelerator. If it’s not working, check the height of the ramp where it re-enters the accelerator and see if it is interfering with balls entering (or exiting) from the lower ramp.
