These are great. Please see the different look due to the stagger on rails. Still looks fine, but if your on the list please note the change.

Awesome work.

I’m sure I missed this somewhere, but how do we get a set?

Added. Pm sent. Once I am done with the list I plan on having 5 sets in stock going forward to ship out asap. I will make them as long as needed.

Thanks! To do them right it took alot out of my time and materials. I just want anyone on the list to be happy they bought them. Thats why I am hell bent on doing them to this level.

I'm an artist myself and truly appreciate the work and dedication you put into each one of these. Have you considered adding a Maker's Mark or signature, something that would indicate these are individually handcrafted and not just shit off an assembly line from Stern?

Not sure how to mark them but good idea.

And its painfull to cut off all the ball drops on all these forms, but retrofitting to new drop design today.

When you're all done you gotta hang that layout board on the wall as artwork.

Hanging it up in my garage. I will make these as long as people want them.

I hit my first goal of the first 5 on the list before Pinfest. I have 7 sets for pinfest and that goal was 10. I will get there. After Pinfest I will work down the list as fast as I can. Anything that does not selll at Pinfest will go to spot 6 and up.

I am using the time I gained from not having to tune these in to stoning the visable welds, sanding and polishing the rails. They look great.

And a special shout out to Zach! I was finishing these while listening to his podcast and it was a great suprise. Thank you Sir.

I like a lot more the look of the left one vs the right one, the bottom circle where the ball drop.
Is there a reason why it is different on some sets? I know it's all hand made, is it because you try different style?

Thanks and great job again!

Some of these are previous sets retrofitted to new version staggered rails and I have been reshaping them as I go through the pile. Anything with a zip tie is playtested. These are the same rails from previous pictures and you can see the holes are closer to each other. I do this by hand using a vise holding a die and my hands. The larger hole required a sharper bend that is made with my hands and a pair of pliers. Then I have to put the rails in a jig and stretch the drop hole rail points with hog ring pliers to straighten rail to circle point evenly. Every set is unique, but look at this picture and you can see the changes, but close to each other. I hope that explains the process. And I am trying to match sets to be as close as possible with that drop hole.

I started to polish them to keep the my game from getting destroyed by the ball picking up crap on the rails prior to playing them. Thats why the pile is clean, but not completed.

If, in the top picture, you number them from 1-6 from top-to-bottom, I like 3 the best. It's the cleanest and best looking, to me.

Got the rest of the week off to be ready for pinfest. Making forms all day today. TNA might be ready for me tomorrow, if so I will be switching over to finish that and bring it to the show.

I have gotten better with the drops with each set made. It took me a few to get it down thats also a cause of the variance. Here are pictures of each step. All by hand. A machine could do this better of course, please understand that I am not a machine.

Congrats on making it this far! Have enjoyed you sharing your journey with us. You'll probably need to hide at allentown because I'm sure you'll sell those ramps in 15mins and then spend the next 3 days telling people 'sorry, sold out... '

Look forward to seeing TNA!!

Thanks Tommy. He has version 3. I am sending him the version 4 ramps for free, and I will be retrofitting those to newer version. And I was asked if I would donate a set to project pinball for sfge. I agreed and there will be a set there for the auction.

Another thanks. I like reading projects here, so I figured others might be the same. I already have 6 people picking up at pinfest. I spent the morning bending up all the parts and only got 2 sets done ao far.

Tna... i told the artist if she had it done by noon tomorrow I could probally switch it over in time for the show. If that happens then no more wireforms will be made until after the show. The cabinet makes such a huge difference. Spookys cabinet is too small. It looks like a modern game in a stern cabinet. And I really did not like the artwork, so I decided to change it. The horsehoe ramp worked great with plastic transitions. They do not work with metal ones. I can not find the old plastic ones I made. Depending on if she gets it back to me, my priority is cabinet swap. If I have time I will make plastic transitions and bring it with the horsehoe. Worse case I will just put the stand ups back in for now.

I wish I could bang them out faster. 4 hours per set. I got 4sets done today. And its now 234 am! The morning was killed just shaping all the parts to build them. I tried recruiting my retired welder friend again. He thought about it, but I cant push it. I just killed another 180 feet of stainless rods. The supplier is really looking at me sideways now. I have to get more. Going to double my order , going for 300 feet. I hope they can keep it coming!

Thanks! Yes she is very good and can translate my drawings perfectly. The only thing that sucks is she did not contnue the purple down the sides and the leg is covering the logo. I pointed all this spacing out when I dropped it off. That was a few months ago so its ok, just wish I caught it.

Thanks to the people that stopped by and said hello. I had to leave early for personal reasons. The game got 90 plays in just under 4 hours. The rails took the beating and I had no complaints or issues with them and they were the only ones on it the entire time. They perfomed well and I am happy about that as so many different people abused them. Sorry to anyone I missed by leaving that was picking up rails.(family)

I did pick up pingraphix artblades. They do match the colors well.

I started to when they pilled up. You sir are # 17. I sent emails out to a few before you on the list as I have some to send out. I am Giving them a few days to respond. Either way yours will be sent or made by next weekend at the latest.
I might have missed emailing you on a number. Sorry if I did. My mail box is over 60 on these.

UPS has billed me an additional $16.00 for a shipment on one of the orders. I called them to find out why and I get additional handling fee? They cant explain it further than that? I have 3 shipping out today, but I am upset with ups. I just paid $38 to ship a less then 2 pound tube regular ground. I cant keep loosing money like that on shipping. Next round is going out usps.

Update: A coworkers brother works at ups. Anything that is not boxed shaped gets additional handling charge. He said that the other 9 that I mailed out should have been charged as well. Guess I will see if they bang me on the couple out now and the 3 going out today.

Quoted from Loganpinball:

UPS has billed me an additional $16.00 for a shipment on one of the orders. I called them to find out why and I get additional handling fee? They cant explain it further than that? I have 3 shipping out today, but I am upset with ups. I just paid $38 to ship a less then 2 pound tube regular ground. I cant keep loosing money like that on shipping. Next round is going out usps.

It could be worth setting up a shipping account. When you ship regularly they start to give you a discount based on volume. I used to use someone else’s Fedex account and pay them back and it was insane how much cheaper it was to ship things. Like less than half. That would be the best route if someone here let you use their account. If you’re up to over 60 orders that will add up fast. You’re around $1,000 in shipping already.

I have a box of shipping tubes that I need to use up. So I need to send them usps or risk getting charged by ups. Anything that is not box shaped gets charged. Guessing I was lucky on the others. The 3 going out today I am taking a chance, but I already paid the shipping.

I cancelled the ups shipping on the 3 I had today, not risking $16 per tube. Lunacy!!

Fed ex always has better rates Than ups or USPS on large items. Drop of at a fed ex facility.

I only use USPS fir small items
And ups never!
And I am a former ups employee! They suck!

I just ordered square boxes. it seems tubes are a thing with fedex and ups. A coworkers wife has a small business and he said the postal service have lost or not delivered a bunch of items. I dont want to deal with any of that. So, once I get the boxes I will ship them back out. Sorry for the delays.

Mando came in today. Missing a rubber on the right side. Who’s running the QC check at Stern?! Haha, no biggie. Also thanks for the backbox damage R&L carriers!! Thankfully they hit this side with the metal back box and not any of the other sides.
