If your handy with welding or have a someone that would weld them for you I would sell a kit with everything shaped and ready to be assembled on your end. If thats an option let me know. I will make a kit and mark all the spots to be welded along with measured type blue prints.

Surface is smooth and ball drops are also smooth. Should not be a problem.

I look forward to buying a set.

My mig welder is acting up so I am stopping for now. Changed tips, tungsten and argon. It is flashing like a bad ground. Hopefully something dumb. Its a lincoln not a harbor freight unit.

Here are a bunch of pictures of my hobbyist welding abilities on these wireforms. The bulk of them you will not see anyway, but I just want everyone to know I will do my very best, but I cant match sterns machine welds. They look fine to me, but I know how some guys are very picky. I dont want anyone to be let down or disappointed. I also put a set next to teenage mutant turtles wireforms so you can see the difference in shine. The stainless looks great for me and I made a big discovery ship wireform a while ago and they still look great. I really appreciate the comments and interest. I will do my very best!

Are you going to finish the metal surface?

I would consider that. I would just have to talk to my welder buddy. Thanks for your hard work! These will look great on the pro.

They are stainless steel and are very easy to keep clean. I built this massive wireform ship for my discovery machine 9 months ago and I have beat the hell out of them and they are very durable as is. Theres stainless polish cleaners at home depot for cleaning. For reference I have not cleaned or done anything with these wireforms on Discovery in 9 months. I am not sure if you can do anything with stainless besides electro, but not positve.

Let me say when you order 270 feet of stainless rods you get asked a few questions. I mispoke on the size, they are 1/8” rods not 1/16”. Bad at math. I got my tig welder squared away. It was a air issue. I believe I answered all the pm’s if I missed you please hit me again. I have quite alot of sets to make which is awesome. I will bang out as many as I can and work down the list. I will post a seperate for sale mod ad when I figure out my average time spent soon on the next two and the exact price I will be asking. I will only ask for payment when they are made and ready to ship.

Made more sets today. It takes 2 1/2 hours to get it shaped and welded and another 1/2 hour to clean and adjust everything. 3 hours solid labor total. $12 in argon gas with 34 welds on the pair and it takes (3) 6 feet sections of stainless rods to complete.
Its a good amount of work and I am ok doing it, I just cant do for $90 as I guessed. Sitting down with the costs and the amount of time in garage for each set I have to increase it to $140. It is ok if anyone who contacted me prior wants to drop out. Just let me know and I will adjust the list. I hope this information explains the whole process and why I need to be at $140. Going forward I would be making 2 to 4 sets a weekend depending on demand.

Count me still in also. Mine doesn't ship till October so I'm good to wait till after pinfest if that works better for you. Nice work.

I am going to beat the hell out of the set in the game now for a few days. I just want to ensure no issues prior to shipping any out.

Excellent mod. The first thing I said when playing the pro was that someone needed to make wireforms, a lot of people will be glad you are. I think the welds look fine too by the way.

#72 2 years ago

Cool as! Loganpinball I'm in and on the list Nice mod indeed!

#73 2 years ago

Well done awesome upgrade and well worth the asking price

#74 2 years ago

Impressive. Most impressive.

#75 2 years ago

You don’t have to explain yourself at $140, I still think you are not charging enough. Excellent work, very impressive!

#76 2 years ago

Loganpinball

Not to beat up the price but if you said 175 I also still believe it’s a good deal. Nobody makes them and this is a serious upgrade to the plastic ramps for pro users . So 140 is a awsome deal! Looking good .

#77 2 years ago

I would like a set for The Flipper Room please. PM sent, Love it!!!

#78 2 years ago

Random (maybe stupid) question.
Would it look too out of place to do just one of the ramps as wire form and the other keep the plastic ramp?
Maybe do the ramp that crosses the playfield as a wire form and the other that feeds the right inlane as plastic?

The plastic ramps are just bad. They look cheap and obstruct the views. My forms or Sterns are a must. It just makes the pro better visually.

Ramping up production! Yes, I went with that!

Beating up the wireforms on the game I notice the long ramp had some wiggle as it was only secured to the lane guide. I added a support arm that attaches at flasher to solid stud. Its rock solid... I am trying my best to identify and resolve or improve the ramps. This was a good catch today. Progress!

The wireforms sat under that channel loose. Not sure if the premiums or le’s are the same. But, playing the game I could see them wiggling. Now they dont move and I think this also is a great support for the entire ramp. The weight is now supported by a mount and not on the plastic cut out. Were also getting a premium. I am curious to see the wireforms on it. I am abusing this game and its a blast! Great shots, call outs, artwork, sounds and clips. Stern did a great job.

You would not want to do that, no. Check out Mark Ritchie designed playfield games from the WMS days: Taxi, Diner, Fish Tales, etc. When ramp returns *do* get in the way of the sight lines of the bottom of the playfield, you want that to be in the form of wireforms. The exception, of course, would be when it's on the side of the playfield, out of the way. The whole point is to be able to see all balls in play clearly.

These are awesome! Great work. I would be all over these if I had a Mando.

Think you might have sold a few more Pros for Stern Might wanna ask Gary for a percentage lol don’t like your chances lol lol. Great work.

You should team up with a chrome plater and offer LE chrome plated versions for extra $$$ people will pay it!!

I sent Gary a personal letter, not an email a few years ago about an issue I had with a NIB Kiss. Never got a reply. I dont want to go 0 for 2 in correspondence!

The stainless can be polished to a brighter shine. You would need a good plater to attempt it. Stainless steel is great for working out wireforms as they bend easier and they dont need to be plated or painted as they will never rust. And like I said earlier they are easy to clean. I like the look of the stainless as well in Mando.

I will make as many wireforms as requested. I am amazed at how many I have to make right now and I will make them all. It will take a few weeks (I still have a full time job!), but I will keep making them until the list is done. I keep getting more added everyday. I do want to bring sets to Pinfest as I have a spot on the floor. And right now I am torture testing the set in Mando for another week. I want anyone that gets these to be happy with them and I am putting every set I make in my game to playtest them for any issues. In short thank’s for the comments and the orders. I will get them all done. If your deep on the list it just will be a few weeks. I started giving out spot numbers in the last round of emails.

I’m interested in getting a set. Can you ship to me in Virginia?

#98 2 years ago
Quoted from Coz:

Hello Brian, I will ship anywhere at the buyers expense. I just need to find the right sized tubes for shipping. The weight is nothing so shipping should be fair. I am banging out a bunch this week. Once I get to that point I will let you know. I put you on my list. This is madness! Thanks for all the interest!

The hardest part is the rails. But, I have 6 long and 4 short ready. Picking the bulk order of rods up tomorrow as I ran out today. Welder is running fine now and thats a huge difference. I had to call a retired welding friend of mine to help fix it over the phone. I offered to pay him to help me build these faster and he just laughed at me. Putting these pictures up so you can see I am serious about this mod and getting them done.
