Quoted from o-din:

What I'd really like to know is how anyone with the internet, TV, or radio does not know an 8th Fast and Furious movie was released this year called The Fate of the Furious with the kind of money it raked in at the box office.

Quoted from o-din:

Don't I get a touche for that?

Nope, because I already knew about it. I just haven't seen it. =Þ

Page 12 off to a great start!

#553 6 years ago
Quoted from T-800:

Never thought of the beer money in that perspective, just game play... I used to justify NIB pricing on saving $1/play on location. Figured I'd probably play the game a few hundred times on location; if my game depreciates that, then so what, it's a wash. But yeah, beer money... Figure paying a good $20 each time out for over priced booze vs. at home with friends makes it even easier to justify...
Now losing a grand or two, especially due to QC issues, yikes.
edit - forgot to mention the inherent value in playing a pin you know works 100%. how much is that really worth? I can tell you I lose a pretty penny each year dumping quarters in a game only to find out it's maintained like crap and barely plays.

how did you neglect the extra value of playing in your undies!!!! ???

that alone is worht he 1k depreciation

Anybody notice that in this Star Wars thread the last pages are only about the next Stern ??

They're doing Fast and Furious? Great! Because Star Wars really blows.

Quoted from o-din:

Please no? Star Wars is a great pin.

#556 6 years ago

Ya'll win. After coming back to this thread and reading 3 pages of post you forced me to look at the top of the thread to see if I clicked on the wrong thread. Nope, it was the SW thread after all.

I also learned I need to get out more as it took me 1.5 pages to figure out what GOTG was. I kept thinking it was some other name for Game of Thrones....

Quoted from 85vett:

You probably don't want to go there.

I still don't know what BOM means?

Quoted from Hazoff:

I still don't know what BOM means?

B = bill
O = of
M= materiels

i.e. how much the parts in the machine cost.

I actually like Jaws, but not for a pinball theme.

I saw Jaws when I was 10.. No movie has ever scared the crap out of me like that. Hmm, well 'The Thing' came close.

I saw Jaws when I was 13 after reading the book. The movies that were kind of shocking to me were The Exorcist on opening night at age 11 and Dawn of the Dead at 17.

They both seem like comedies now, but at the time they were brutal.

Dude I saw the exorcist when I was maybe 8... it gave me nightmares for decades!!! Regan would chase me around and shit, it still totally gives me the creeps.

#566 6 years ago

I had a crush on Regan. lol.

That's basically what foreplay between me and my wife is like.

I remember watching the TV movie Born Innocent where the girls gave it to her with a plunger handle. That was prime time back in those days.

....speaking of Star Wars....

You guys see another Pro model went up for sale not too long ago?

Aren't these things JUST being delivered? And people are already sick of them?

Yikes.

Yikes.

This happens with EVERY new game. Certain people just move them along quickly.

A lot of guys I know buy all new games as soon as they are released, play them to decide quickly if they like it, then flip as soon as possible that way guaranteeing they get a good price due to the newness of the game.

Guilty.
I was in this camp for the first week.
Thankfully,
The funky ruleset is slowly growing on me now, or at least, a bit more than my GOT pro did.
Guess all I really needed to do was to turn the volume up to 14 to finally appreciate it more.
(It is SW after all.)
Code is still pretty basic at .87 but at least it's turning into a good multiplayer with the short ball times.
I've had casual and seasoned vets go head to head on it now and it doesn't seem like there is this huge skill rift between them.

I think Steve Ritchie deserves a bit more credit for his "simple" design.
