Update: if any others would like an early adopter kit for their Data East Star Wars pinball, just message me, thanks.

----------------------------------------

Recently I wanted to add a nice effect to my Star Wars DE pinball. I made up plans and developed the following flipper mod that can be installed in the game with no soldering necessary.

I believe the same design should work for Stern Star Wars pinball machines as well and I am planning to do a test install.

I may plan to do a run of these and for other games like Ghostbusters. Please comment below if you may be interested in a set.

So far, the project has seemed to turn out just as I I had envisioned and the brightness is just right, matching with the other lights, pop bumpers and effects.

Game on!

Here’s a couple videos in action emphasizing the flippers.

Last night I played quite a few games testing these flippers out further and they seemed to work really well. When playing pinball, you’re constantly focusing on the flippers and interacting with them so it adds quite a feeling to the game.

I am finally getting to given my 10 cents. I like the look of them and for a mod it was a quick install. I did not do my usual tweaking it to my every just way. I will do that stuff later. Spent about 10 min doing actual work total yes most getting flipper aligned right. Every part fits well like it was meant to be there not some slap together hack. Grabbed some pics in the process and if anyone has request a different pic just ask.

Spent more time cleaning everything once i saw how dirty everything was on my game. Pictures hid the fact this hunk of junk has done quite a few Kessel runs and shows it. Thats for another day and another thread.

Those are cool! I don't have a Star Wars, but those would look great on any pin. Lighted green fippers would look great on Munsters, red for Elvira!
