You can create an image of the sd card with something like win32diskimager if you have a windows machine / card reader. If you are worried about corrupting the sd card, there is usually a lock switch on the card. When in the lock position it would prevent a write from happening, so you do not accidentally write to the card when you intended to read from it.

I have problems with either side opening (but that is more to do with my poor gameplay skills) . Otherwise I have seen mention of this in other SW topics, I think folks called Stern for a fix..

My ball seems to get stuck behind this as well, alot. It will sit there quite a while, unless I give the game a decent forward nudge. Not sure it is R2D2 specific as I am only allowed to play on Luke as my daughter does not want me to erase her name from any other characters high scores.
