Quoted from wxforecaster:

I don't read this as a vault edition, but simply as another run, which has been done in the past.

That makes WAY more sense. Calling it a vault edition is weird.

I had no idea that there was any demand for this title that couldn't be satisfied by current NIB stock or the used market.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Why are people complaining about this?!
Don't want it, don't buy it. Wait for the next non-offensive title.

(edit)

You can say the same damn thing about every single thread in the history of Pinside that discusses a new title or a VE.

Apparently people can only post positive opinions about any new title or VE or rerun. No "complaining" allowed!

Anyone who made a post questioning this move by Stern, or who otherwise are "complaining" about it should just go back and delete their posts (and they should probably be ejected from the thread too)!

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

This VE takes no effort for stern to make.
It doesn't hog resources from any other product.
It's the exact same thing that came out 4 years ago.
There's literally nothing new about this. Yet we have a litany of new complaints.
"I don't like that Stern re-released Star Trek, and I'm gonna bitch about it."
THAT is dumb. You might as well be complaining about the fact that they are bringing back Crystal Pespi.

I guess I missed the posts that complained about this title "hogging resources from another product" or that it takes "effort for Stern to make" it.

Most of the posts that I've read on the subject are questioning why this would be released as a "vault edition" and whether there is actually enough demand to do so. Is that really "complaining" in your mind? To me it is called pinball related discussion, which is what I thought this site was for.

Quoted from jgentry:

Why does anyone care about this? It was a retired game, they reupped the license and brought it back. Not really any different then IMVE or ACDCVE. Who cares what they call it?

Because what you just said is not an accurate statement.

Quoted from Pimp77:

Hey, RobT is back! Miss the TWD avatar!

TWD is gone, and TNA is incoming, so it was time for a new avatar. I kind of miss it too though.

Quoted from jgentry:

Complete BS, you guys are making something out of nothing just so that you have something to complain about. Any changes IM and ACDC were small and were for reliability or to make sterns life easier (ACDC premium window) and were nothing major. If you go to sterns website, once something is moved to the Archive section, if it comes back out they have been calling them VE's. Plus all of you bitching have no clue if anything has been changed or added to ST yet.
But just so that we are all on the same page. Add some foil decals and it's now a VE, don't add them and it can't be a VE even though it came from the archive because pinside says so.

Complete nonsense.

So if Stern stops production on a pin for a couple of months a moves it to the archive page on their website and they do another run it magically becomes a "vault" edition? Really?

Does the term "vault" have any meaning to you?

To me IM was a true vault edition release because it had been out of production for years, not months. AC/DC as well, but to a lesser degree. Like others have said, just call it another run and this thread would be half as long as it is.
