The one thing I see is that your connection on J118 looks really odd, I do realize its been hacked but with a 3 pin connector hanging off the side, I don't believe the connector is mated with the two center pins on the header. If this is true, the +12V on the pin to the right of the key is connected to a ground wire, this should have blown your 12V fuse on your power board. I don't see a connection anywhere for a color DMD, but if you have one, you will have no display and be unable to see the message saying to check your 12V fuse.
Quoted from DTAC:this worked with the display and sound until i a loose wire under the playfield touched a live lug on a solenoid
You wouldn't happen to know which wire this was, would you? Could be good information to have.
Quoted from DTAC:fixed this and found a bad fuse and replaced but still the same.
Is the fuse you replaced still good?
Quoted from Schwaggs:Ribbon cable from CPU to Aux board is twisted.
Red tracer should be up on J204 CPU board side (this is correct in the pictures) and to the left on the Aux board (in the pictures it is to the right).
Good catch, but since its twisted on both sides it will work fine like that
Quoted from Schwaggs:Pin 1 is at the top of the CPU board connector which is where the red tracer is on the ribbon cable (correct).
Ah, I see where the confusion is; pin one is actually on the bottom side of the CPU connector, not the top.
