Quoted from gtown:

Best of luck! Even if you don't get it working 100% it still should be seen at TPF for the work of art it is.

Totally agree. And who at the show wouldn't lend you a hand fixing whatever it needs? I know I would. WILL...WILL...I know I WILL lend you a hand if you need it.

Congratulations! All your efforts paid off. It was awesome to see it in person and talk to you at the show.

Quoted from Zitt:

2) Eject mechanism to inlane is still flakey.
At TPF we cut about half of the spring off to lessen the resistance for the coil.
I also stripped off about one.5 complete layers of wire from the coil.
This made the eject work after a couple of tries.
Before TPF it had new coil sleeves; so not the issue here.
Not sure what I'm going to do about it long term..

I forget...are you using a stock Bally MPU and ROMs in your machine?

#474 10 years ago

Hmmm......ok....so, the outhole mech you built was just a reverse of the original with essentially the same design specifications, right? The only thing I can think of is maybe the mounting angle is not right or maybe the driver circuit is compromised. If the driver transistor was bad at some point the predriver may need to be replaced.

I would replace diode CR4 and U1, they could have been damaged yet still sort of work. That coil should have enough power to bounce the ball off the side rail and back into the trough, so if the issue isn't mechanical then the driver has to be bad.
