Quoted from Concretehardt:

It is? Ok thanks for letting me know!
Ps. Should I do a burger or a turkey sandwich for lunch today?
I need to know what I like best?
Let me know... Thanks!!

I need more parameters. There are so many burgers and sandwiches to choose from. I guess I would do Fatburger or five guys.

WOZ is fine if you are a toddler or wear panties but what kind of man buy's a WOZ themed anything, oh yeah a gay one. Jesus, the main song is yellow brick road. Star Trek LE can't wait no second thoughts what so ever. Take WOZ and go put on a dress.

Dude, that's strange. Most of the guys that see my (gay) man cave like it just fine. Clearly you have to get out more. Very few of us are flowery and effeminate. The big difference is that we don't care if you are (be yourself, whatever that might be...its easier)

I'm getting a ST Premium. Don't read too much into it. I'm just a fan of Star Trek.

#303 10 years ago

Unfortunately I could not have both ST:LE and ACDC. I stuck with my ACDC premium and glad I did it's crazy good. The best part is my brother really wanted ST:LE so he took my preorder and he's pumped. I still get to play both

(...) I guess I have some pent up anger as a result and I apologize for my comments. My buddies and me joke around a lot with each but Im starting to see that most people on pinside are way too serious. Again I'm sorry and I'll keep those opinions to myself.

+1 for the apology.

Note that I was not a big fan of the WoZ theme, did not like the music and call outs on videos... until I played this Pin. Surprisingly neither the music theme or callouts were a problem anymore for me. It is simply a great pin.
So beware... you might end up changing your mind...

Back to STLE... I can't afford it - and have no regret admitting it -. Assuming I could afford the LE, the Pro seems a very decent "downgrade" I would seriously consider.
I had the chance to play ST Pro and Spiderman side by side. Can't say right now which one I would add to my collection first. Both are great, but at this stage I would probably only have one of the two.

Quoted from Rarehero:

Are the lyrics about the Tinman blowing the Lion? I guess I missed that subtext. The song goes "Follow the yellow brick road" not "Swallow the lion's thick load". Is there a director's cut where Dorothy and Glinda get it on? Maybe I'm just naive, but nothing in WOZ ever struck me as gay.

Can we see this bit in a Family Guy episode coming up?

192 Pinsiders Polled:
69% are happy with their decision to cancel their LE order (either that, or they didn't understand the poll question).
20% are having second thoughts, and presumably will order re-order one when delivery commences and new owners rave about their new toys.
11% changed their minds after cancelling and are expecting their LE to be delivered before Christmas.

So, here's the next question:

Will the 799 ST LEs sell out?

If so, when?

Show your colours BEFORE the first new owners receive them in a few weeks time …

Quoted from Aussiepinwiz:

So, here's the next question:
Will the 799 ST LEs sell out?
If so, when?

Sure. If Stern sells them all to dealers, it is considered a sell out.

The real questions are:
1) how quickly will the dealers sell them?
2). How close to MSRP is the average sale?

I don't think dealers will sell them as fast as the hype earlier this year indicated and I think the $8k ish price tag will cause some second thoughts (or changes to Pro/Premium) if the LE doesn't blow people away. I suspect dealers will end up discounting them to break even at that point.

I bought the hype early and will have ended up paying close to top dollar, certainly more than was necessary, with cost, tax (supporting my local Stern dealer) and delivery to make sure I got one. But STLE doesn't seem to be the "sure thing" many predicted, at least not yet.

Pretty sure LEs will be readily available in 6 to 9 months. Especially if TWD is the next Stern offering.

#310 10 years ago

Who paid $8k? I got mine for well below $8k closer to the $7k than 8. I didn't purchase the game because it's sold out. Flippers and dealers are the only ones that care if it's sold out or not. It's not like I have to worry about more LE's come on the market.

So, in your opinion, do you think dealers/distributers have bought ST LEs, thinking they will be able to sell them, but they have misjudged the situation?

Yes. Absolutely. If the LE was going to be a sure fire hit you shouldn't be able to find them now or prices would be higher than MSRP.

Mine was below 8, but not well below, and was slightly more than best price available at the time. Didn't bother then because I wanted to buy from a local dealer, not necessarily get the best price. That decision may cost me about $1400, so I hope I don't regret it, at least for too long.

So all the distributers around the world have misjudged their markets?

Well I thought that it was the other way around, 69% are saying that there happy with there purchase to not change.

#316 10 years ago

BTW - I think Melbourne has sold out of STLE's

Quoted from Aussiepinwiz:

No clue about international markets.

#318 10 years ago

Forgive me, but I am unsure. What is the current going rate for a STLE in the SE of the USA (I am in Florida)? I have an operator that is asking $8100 for the LE (after taxes and shipping), thus this seems like a good price for an LE but reading this thread I am not sure.

#319 10 years ago

$7900 seems to be close to standard price for the LE, I know 2 distributors quoting this price,

There is no "I never cancelled my order" option. So I voted "Yes" thinking it meant I didn't want to cancel my order. I know a few other people did too, so the poll is a bit off. Plus the poll is fairly old now, I wonder if you pose that poll again what the responses will be now that we have actually seen it?

Yes I thought the same, the wording in the poll question is weird and I answered wrong too.

Includes shipping not taxes. I purchased out of state.

Quoted from Mycal:

Ca. is cracking down on the out of state purchases, some people are getting letters to pay, others they are waiting for them to not declare it on their taxes and then they gig you for the tax and penalties.
You have no privacy anymore, anything you purchase online they know about it.
They used to not worry about this trivial stuff but the state has been run into the ground and they need every dime they can get.

I'm relatively new to Pinside. Is it possible to change or add a poll to an existing thread?

The original poll question was framed in the context of a plethora of PInsiders cancelling their orders when the first images of ST were released, and then a few weeks later there were overwhelming positive reviews about the Pro version … and some Pinsiders who cancelled their LE orders, placed a fresh order … that's why it's a bit dated today.

Yeah, well, text doesn't convey things like that very well. I got away from RGP to 'relax' here, and your comments came off that way. Maybe I could lighten up a tad. Sorry I misinterpreted your post but especially about my kneejerk Noob crap.
Let's lighten the mood, shall we!

I agree Markmon. I thought my wife and I were the only ones that can't stand it!

Played ST pro last night... Fun game! I was impressed!

I would have thought that some of the second thoughts would settle with the "all hands on deck" coding surge. After the initial lukewarm reaction to the red playfield, lackluster toys and familiar layout and the disbelief (almost fury) at the price hike, then the revelation that the VUK was gone and the projector was delayed, they have really needed a win. The code shown during the Expo tourney and Bowen's tutorial has changed the conversation from being dissatisfied with what is there to looking at the game's potential, which appears to be where Metallica is for most people. It's still not a favorite, and I don't see how the projector could be a game changer, but at least this recent effort shows that they are somewhat responsive.

I hear hemorrhoids and a lacking sense of humor are the two main reasons people don't like FGY; pin or show. Just saying...

I was really tempted to break my self-imposed ban on new games & order one last week...but ya know I still haven't seen what the moving ship does or the what the starfield projector looks like...I'm still waiting for Met code...honestly I got more excited for ToM's ColorDMD announcement. I'm gonna hang back and see what the LE reviews & user videos look like.

The "humor" in that show got old really fast. Not.a single story line and recycled jokes. I liked it at first, but had 0 staying power.
