Yes, do the Cointaker laser mod upgrade. It works so much better than the stock Stern laser.

I received it yesterday. I was a little confused by the feet on the eight pin connector because it would not allow the hookup. I removed them and plugged it in (hopefully the right move). Everything appears to be working as it should. Thanks Tom!!!!

Got mine today. The impact on "full blackout" is simply awesome!! The darkness presents an incremental challenge too. Just an awesome mod. I too had trouble as bpeed99 above did. Tom, you might want to check your connectors vs the male end on the machines. Something is not quite right.
I too cut off the little "legs" but still no luck getting connector on (without breaking something). I had spare trifurcon housing connectors so I dremeled off the original and added my own. After that, it went right on no issues. Worked perfect after mounting it to bottom of playfield, then adding the supplied power cable. This is a must have mod ... makes a huge difference in play feel and look. Nice job Tom!
