Start Trek LE's official announcement was met with much disappointment and criticism on Pinside. Judging by the tone of recent posts the tide has turned, and is rising rapidly.

Speculate: How many days until the STLE cupboard is empty? That is, how many days until distributors have no more stock to sell to customers?

The poll shows an interesting divide so far: About half of Pinsiders polled think ST LE will sell out within the next month (with one keen dude who thinks they'll be all gone tomorrow and a growing group who indicate before Christmas) and a quarter Pinsiders polled so far think the game will still be available well into 2014.

1 week after starting this thread it's time to summarise the poll findings:

In the blue corner:
24% of Pinsiders think distributors will have no stock left within a month. 34% think there's just 2 months worth of stock left, and 45% believe that STLE cupboard will be bare sometime between now and mid-March 2014.

On the other hand ...

In the red corner:
A majority of Pinsiders, 55%, believe the pinnie will still be available to buy NIB after the middle of next year and possibly into 2015 despite rave reviews.

We have two strong opposing opinions.

Which corner am I in? Somewhere in the blue. Why? Because:
1. Overwhelming strong positive reviews.
2. If Sterns don't drop prices for the next pin (Mustang) the initial ST price-shock will dissipate early in the new year.

I guess which corner is proved to be right will be known just before Easter 2014, at the latest.

If all the LEs haven't been built yet it has a bearing on this thread's poll despite STLE rocketing to No. 1 on the Top 100.

They have now sold out in Australia.

Only 3 machines are on the next ship.

2 weeks after starting this thread it's time for the weekly poll findings summary:

About 60 new votes were cast in the last week, and despite some 'sold out' reports from outside USA (some of which have yet to be verified), and continued overwhelming positive reviews, including a debut as No. 1 on the Pinside Top 100 listing, the percentages have remained almost identical to last week's.

In the blue corner:
46% of Pinsiders polled (up 1% on the last week) believe that STLE cupboard will be bare sometime between now and mid-March 2014.

On the other hand ...

In the red corner:
A majority of Pinsiders (but dropping slightly in the percentage ranks), 54%, believe the pinnie will still be available to buy NIB after the middle of next year and possibly into 2015 despite rave reviews.

We still have two strong opposing opinions.

Based on posts in various threads it sounds like there are lots of STLEs in Christmas stockings, but when & if STLE sells out completely is probably something we'll have to wait until sometime in the new year to declare.
