Klingons look like they are wearing Halloween masks. Too smooth and rounded edges. It will take a couple of episodes to fill in the back story and get all the reoccurring characters in place. Around mid season we will know if it's a hit.

With the first officer imprisoned for mutiny in episode 3, sounds similar to the ensign Roe story line.
The scenes (lighting) are too dark. It's like your watching tv through a dirty window. Action scenes like with the creature, they give you a small glimpse. Show us the monster! Did someone forget Star Trek was shot in color?
I am waiting to see how Harry Mudd is portrayed.
