Quoted from Jeff_PHX_AZ:...I have a few things for sale...
Darn, that would have been a good deal if I hadn't purchased most of that already.
Quoted from nicoga3000:What's up with people's beef with the code on ST?
Good question. I just got ST premium last week, and I've been really impressed with the code and rule set. I understand people's argument that the modes are too similar, but like you said, there's really only so many shots in pinball, so how do you distinguish between modes? So far, I think ST had done a pretty good job with this. Of course, the color changing LED's really help, plus the dots and sounds. Maybe when the Carl Urban pack is released people will warm up to ST more.
Quoted from Eskaybee:There's a whole list of issues in the Star Trek = work thread.
Good post. I haven't read this thread yet - headed there now.
Quoted from ectobar:If you want to put up a beefier number, for now, Super Ramps going: Spinner to Warp ramp is where it's at. If you can use all of your super ramps shots like that, that's 50mil right there.
I'm going to give this a shot tonight. I've broken 80 mil a few times, but that seems to be my limit for now.
Quoted from ectobar:If I'm playing strictly for points my strategy is
Good stuff!! ...thanks for posting!
Quoted from KLR2014:1) Do I miss a Mod that is really needed in your opinion ?
Yes, you should check out this thread: http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/star-trek-stern-vengeance-mod-chashing-leds
Quoted from KLR2014:2) Do I setup the pin, run 1 check and then install all the mods or wait a few days (games) before I install the mods ?
With the exception of the Cliffy's - that's totally up to you. If it were me, I'd so so anxious to play I wouldn't take time to mess with the mods right away. Of course, you want to get those protectors in as soon as possible, but a few games played without 'em won't hurt much (IMHO)
I've really been enjoying my ST premium - FAST and FUN!
Quoted from MustangPaul:Take pictures of it on the truck BEFORE they take it off. If the box is damaged take pictures.
DO NOT SIGN FOR THE GAME if there appears to be ANY damage to the box. Open it and be sure. You may get some flack from the driver, but that is much better than signing for a damaged game. Once you sign, you are saying "I received the game in good condition". This releases the shipping company of any liability. DON'T do that until you are satisfied you received the game in good condition.
Quoted from nicoga3000:Speaking of warp shots, does extra ball get lit every time you hit Warp 3
It depends on your settings. I have mine set to auto adjust. When I started playing, it was giving out extra ball on warp three. Now that it's self-adjusted a few times, I don't get extra ball until warp 9.1.
Quoted from Aurich:I'm hoping to put the translite together with a full decal package, I'm working on those now. New replacement speaker panel decal, all the apron decals including the shooter, the coin door, everything. Should make the whole thing feel stock and all tied together, like it came that way, and the print quality will be a lot higher quality than Stern's low rez line screens.
Oh, HELL YEAH!!!
Quoted from Arcade:Brand new Star Trek just arrived today
Congrats!!
Quoted from Arcade:Anything we need to set in the DMD menu to make the game better besides Free Play?
I know many will disagree, but I set mine to 5 balls. ...but still haven't hit Enterprise Amok.
Quoted from Arcade:And oh yea. What are the inserts for with the Enterprise on them for that are under the insignias?
These indicate combo shots.
Quoted from Arcade:I have only noticed three. Add a ball, extra time, and 200,000 points
I've also seen 2x, 3x, etc bonus multiplier awarded.
Quoted from 27dnast:My ST is having an issue...
It has to do with the shot to the Vengeance. When the drop is down, if I rifle a shot (fast/hard shot) underneath the ship, it goes in and is able to bounce out. It appears the drop target isn't raising fast enough to catch the ball.
A soft shot is caught.
Can be a real downer during a big game.
Quoted from pinballophobe:I get the same thing sometimes.
Quoted from Eskaybee:There's a few known bugs when certain modes are running and/or vengeance features lit that will cause this.
Also, in the 1.50 release they mention adding a delay to the drop target - so it won't raise too fast and create an airball as the shot is going in. However - I think the delay is too long - and creates the situation where a fast shot will rebound out before the drop can catch it.
EDIT: Here's the text from the 1.50 readme. I think this delay should be shortened some, because I rarely got air balls before the fix, but have definitely had some shots rebound out after the 'fix'
- Raising the center drop target is postponed a bit to allow balls more time to pass over the target.
Quoted from Captain_Kirk:Needless to say, I had absolutely no issues yesterday!
Congrats!! Such a great feeling playing that NIB pin for the first time.
Quoted from AlbanyTim:This just arrived today.
Congrats!! Make sure you're running the 1.61 code. Such a fun game, you'll LOVE IT!!
Quoted from Meph:I finally got the balls to tear down my STTNG and clean/wax it
That looks GOOD!
