Hi everyone, I have just had a full restoration on a STTNG completed with the full story on the thread https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/star-trek-the-next-generation-complete-restoration with pre, during and post images on the thread. The finished images are posted on this forum for all with Star Trek pins. This was a 12 month project from start to finish with a 100% stripdown.

Quoted from Zitt:

What is wrong with that front decal?
The engauge and insigna should line up with the start button.

Good spot, I refer to this on my restoration thread, I guess that until you get the decal and it comes back from the cabinet shop you dont know until you see it.

Quoted from Zitt:

that would bug the sh1t out of me.
Was this created by the cabinet shop... or pre-made decals?
If the later... hell ... in any case; I'd be asking for a new decal with fixed proportions.
Are you keeping the machine? If so; plans on adding any mods to it? ;D

Hi this was an all in cabinet shop job, I think that this will be replaced. I spotted the error when the box was delivered and will seek a new front decal (any recommendations would be cool) Yes keeping the machine and not thought about any mods yet, will sort the front decal first and see how we go.

Quoted from SaminVA:

The continue button is in a different position than mine. I wonder what's up with that?[quoted image]

Hi this is as it was as an original with the continue button in a different location (more central to the coin door lock) compared to your image (image below). From what I can see from other images online there are two positions maybe this is a European 50Hz (central) vs USA 60 Hz (lower down) variant.

Similar to mine for sale on Pinside right now at
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/83583 (In Europe)
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/88213 (In Europe - The decal on this one looks out also)

Similar to yours for sale on Pinside right now at
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/88768 (In USA)
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/43527 (In USA)

So there looks to be a difference in the location of the continue button. I have not seen anyone post on this difference before?

From what I can see decal kits come with holes not cut out and these are done in situ when applied, but if anyone has any feedback on any of this please post.

Quoted from MrMikeman:

If you look closely the start button is also offset. The decal is correct (engage) for where the button is on one version.

Hi I am not sure on this, do you have the measurements for the start button hole? The start button is in the same position pre and post restoration this is the attached of both and the point of reference is the bolt fixing which looks to me like the hole is in a similar position, but the decals are different. One thing I have learned is that the "continue" buttons are in differing locations across the batch of STTNG pins. Original on the left and restored on the right.

Quoted from MrMikeman:

Yep the start button is in similar position. So many pics with different angles it seemed off a bit. However, I am guessing that the decal was actually a bit larger than the cab, and it was installed just slightly too far to the left. If you look at the orange planet bottom left, there should be a slight gap between the planet and the leg. Your restored pic has the planet slightly under the leg. Maybe 6-8mm too far left. I think the decal is ok, it's the installation that was off.

Hi Yes I think this is the case also thanks for the input

I think this place:
https://pinballdecals.eu/shop/star-trek-the-next-generation-pinball-cabinet-decals-set/
had a dust up with Ricky regarding licensing... That said I haven't specifically used any of their products.
Maybe contact them to see if they can/will specifically only do the front decal for you.
When you get in the market - I offer several unique products for
STNG on my site. Many are designed by myself as an exclusive to my website. As an example:
STNG Popcapsis a unique product.

Hi Thanks for the link and some of those mods look great
