Quoted from J85M:There’s a connector on the prem/le, I believe pro owners have simply tapped into nearby GI
Found it..... any idea on the asteroids?
Ok R asteroid is hooked up. Can’t seem to find a plug for the left.
Here’s where we are so far with this PROMIUM project
Let the cash cow begin. $$$$
Quoted from jetmechinnc:Is it a good effect having those covers on the flashers? Was thinking about getting them.
Honestly I thought they would be crap also ..... so I made a set and they look fantastic
Quoted from joshvandam:Looks awesome. Wish there were a way to get the laser projector in the pro.
I looking into that. I have the warp ramp down pat for my last time around with ST.
Quoted from Zitt:The pro lacks the code for turning on the laser project; else it would be easy.
Without that code; unsure how anyone would "detect" klingon multi ball to turn on said laser.
Thats tricky but .... but a switched timer relay. Could be run of an insert or any multi ball using possibly the ball trough for a certain amount of time.
Would not be exactly like the Premium but close enough.
Quoted from marioparty34:I am about to join the club. So excited!
Is there a game play difference between a Prem VE and an LE? Is the geometry different? Is one built better than the other?
Thanks for any insight/opinions.
You will be more than happy with a pro...... trust me I owned two.... I planned on modding the shit out of mine to make it a one off so spending 6500 plus 1500/2000 in mods was more than I wanted to invest for almost identical gameplay.
If you want to spend the coin for stock an LE is the way to go.
Quoted from J85M:Couldn’t you sell your pro and just grab a premium seems like it would save you a tonne of trouble and time.
I like mine more than a premium . There is sooooo much stuff I am putting on it still would have cost $$$$.
Also only paid 4k for my 1 owner HUO perfect original receipt pro.
Quoted from J85M:Cool dude I was just curious so had to ask. Been following your posts so interested to see it all once your finished.
if I was just to buy the color DMD and bird of prey mod built with Interactive LEDs that cost alone would have been 600
Quoted from Doctor6:For me, the premium is all features you just can't add to a pro. Lighting, kickback, and the VUK.
Kickback and VUC really nothing to the game.
As far as lighting they said that about MET too.
Both are great but for what I wanted to do........ adding $$$$ to a 6500 dollar game was not what I wanted to spend.
Quoted from Pin_Guy:After playing on my LE, I honestly cant stand the pro for the above mentioned items. The PREMIUM and LE both have full RGB lighting for every insert on the playfield, this alone makes these games look like completely different machines.
Thats actually one of the things I can't stand on the Prem/Le. I love that the insignias on the pro are RGB, and having the inserts standard means I don't have to keep the dimly lit Stern ones in.
I was able to fully customize all my Leds to my liking and if one goes bad its pennys to replace .
Heres the way I am looking at it because of what I want to do. I paid 4k " very cheap" for a 1 owner HUO with pro from the original owner. The same in a premium would have cost me 6500 or 7500 for an LE taking into what I would have added is my theory

6526 8464. Add a few hundred more here or there for stuff I still wanna do .......
Doing a Premium was waaaay more than I wanted to spend for next to no gameplay difference. This Promium IMO will smoke a stock Prem. in every way in gameplay and features . The LE is a different story but would still be needing much of what I want but at over 9k investment. Toooo much for me.
Quoted from joshvandam:I am with you all the way. This is how I have my pro and honestly prefer it decked out like that to the premiums I have played. Not to mention a 2k savings. This is one of the best pros made imo.
Only 3 pro's IMO that fit that bill....... ST, Tron, and Met.
Quoted from gdonovan:It is very cool to watch.[quoted image]
Not trying to be negative or a dick..... but IMO its too much and reminds me more of a Christmas tree. I love some RGB but its over the top.
Quoted from gdonovan:Attract mode. I have non-pin people tell me they could stand there all day and watch it... so it has the desired effect.
Key words, non-pin people and stare..... just like a Christmas Tree
Seriously though what perpose do all the RGB light do on every insert. I have personally seen those boards go bad on occasion. I like using 555/44 bulbs . I don't mind a few RGB but overall they are not for me in a board/package form.
One color on one insert gets bad and the whole board needs to be replaced. Not for me
Quoted from J85M:Totally agree with this but unfortunately that’s the future for us all, Spike2 uses boards for all inserts, I’ve seen one SMD go bad so that one insert out of 8 now can’t make the full RGB spectrum, it’s one of the reasons I haven’t been all that quick to pick up many Spike 2 games.
I know.... I limit myself to two Spike games and two CGC games.... All the rest I keep SAM.
IMO the most robust system ever made and I was once a BW snob.
Quoted from pipes:Really? It allows programmers the ability to code in a lot of really cool effects that otherwise would not be able to be achieved. Being so used to playing my Pre, I find it very difficult to enjoy playing on a Pro, which seems quite dull and poorly lit in comparison.
Then your not playing the right pro brother.
My pro with all CT non- ghosting color matched to the inserts. All GI is done in frosted. Sharp brilliant colors that are not washed out.
Still uses RGB on insignia inserts but I had to change out the two ship inserts that were boards to CT high brightness ones .
videotogif (resized).pngI may have this translite and speaker decal for sale in the up coming weeks. I had a Aurich art package that I have been holding onto for just such a project. I will be using everything but the speaker decal because I ordered the stainless steel one. It would look like this fellow did in the pic. Would be 135 shipped once my speaker cover comes in 4 weeks. LMK if you interested

Cool. Its actually a combo of 1 translate plus the Aurich decal. Ill keep you posted.
Quoted from Scoot:I don't want to say specific mods or mod builders because I know how hard they work and I'm not in any way bashing their products. But there are a lot of mods that make the ball handle differently than normal. Or unable to see the ball as well. Stuff like that. Sometimes mods are even essential, but still alter game play in a negative way. And when you add 2, 3, or more mods like that on one playfield, you can produce a poorly shooting or feeling game. And I have absolutely done this myself.
Sometimes its not even the mods..... like the hammer in Met.
Quoted from Zitt:Wow. The entire list; and nearly none of my mods unless the KBOP is mine.
Regardless, enjoy your machine.
Sorry brother even the KBOP was all gutted with a die grinder and then hand wired by me. I used a diluted grey to white wash the model then gave some darker highlights to take the shine off , Then 3D printed the swivel post
Im still not done so there may be a chance Zitt.
Quoted from J85M:If there’s only one thing you get off Zitt grab his pop caps those are stunning and make any ST pop they blow the factory plastic ones away.
Do they fit with Pinbits pop number dress up kit ?
Quoted from kapsreiter:i have a stainless steel speaker panel in stock
if you are interested
150$ shipped[quoted image]
Has mine shipped bub. If so please send me the tracking #. Thx Allen

Quoted from Zitt:Did you get some "Promium" armor or are you planning on just repowdercoating the existing stock product.
I ask because I recently acquired some Promium" armor from Pinball.Center for exactly these type of projects.
[quoted image]
Zitt..... Im going with the stock armor. Im kinda weird about adding lollipop type rail where they did not exist before. It always make me wonder if there was wear underneath. They are really cool though.
Just put my chrome tmolding on today. Then you run a 600 grit sand sponge over it 4/5 times in the same direction and it looks just like stainless steel. Can’t wait till my stainless speaker panel gets here.

Quoted from Jediturtle:Those would be awesome if the proportions were better between the nacelles and the saucer. They should have shrunk the whole thing a bit if they ran out of room rather than give it a teeny tiny saucer.
FYI...you can buy the real thing from Marco...but they are very expensive.
Just using the stock armor. It all went in today and should be done in two weeks.
A nice silver tone will due just fine.
Just got my armor back from powder.
IMO...... I’m blown away how this turned out.
My Promium project is getting closer to being finished. Waiting for my stainless steel speaker panel yet.

Quoted from Wanimal:Picking up a HUO ST Pro on Thursday! Anything I need to know/check for? This will be my first Stern pin.
A lot of game for the $$$$
Quoted from dannunz:Excited I was able to find this discontinued dmd stainless cover. It’s my Pro LE lol now I need to find a way to get 12 volts to light up the color paper. Wondering if I can tap into the dmd power plug now that I am not using it due to a color dmd. Any help would be appreciated
[quoted image]
Not discontinued as I have one on order from the fellow who makes them. Should be here soon. Any 12 volt tap will do.
Quoted from mnrocketry:Joined the club today. Bought a HUO Stern Star Trek Pro. Only mod in it is a shaker motor.
Then you have a lot of fun times modding ahead of you.
Quoted from Irishbastard:Soooo....did you just sand down the end of the shooter rod off to get it flat?
Sorry....... yes I did it on a grinder first then a sander.
