My Star Trek LE decals started doing that. I removed them and tossed them in the trash. Will order new ones again at some point. Kinda missing the look they add

Anyone know what causes the Enterprise ship to stick down? The coil is trying to move the ship, but it’s stuck. Before I tear into it, I was hoping someone might have run into this before. Any help would be appreciated

Shout out to Dan from PinWoofer for taking my STLE to another level with the PinWoofer super kit. I ordered his super kits for Star Trek, Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden and Game of Thrones. Took me 3+ hours to install the STLE system, but I wasn’t in a hurry and it was my first PinWoofer install.

After turning the game on, I spent time dialing in the gain knobs on both amplifiers as well as the speech and music attenuation settings in the Game settings. I also upgraded the game code from v1.61 to v1.62 with the movie music. The game sounds incredible now with super clear highs and hard hitting bass that makes the game feel very interactive along with the shaker and amazing light show.

Planning to install the same system on Metallica LE today, I highly recommend PinWoofer if you want to take your game to the next level. Just make sure you install anti-rattle tape on the playfield glass because it will rock!

Thanks for posting this, I just checked the trough on my STLE and have the same clear damage. Going to order one of these protectors from Zitt stat. Any other high wear areas to inspect on this game?

Anyone know why my ColorDMD displays this red hue to it instead of solid black? I played with the different settings and can’t get it to display a solid black background. It’s one of the older ColorDMD models that came with the game when I bought it from Pinball Refinery and I’ve updated it to the latest ROM. Thinking about purchasing a new ColorDMD to fix this issue unless anyone has any ideas.

Thank you Zitt, I will try carefully reseating that ribbon cable and report back! Hopefully, that’s all it is. I remember it being solid black in the past.

I carefully reseated both ends of the ribbon cable and now the ColorDMD is nice and black again. I also turned the backlight setting down from 9 to 6 which helped some. Thanks for the help

I’d love to buy Zitt’s laser upgrade for my LE, but want red just like factory. Hopefully, the part is available again at some point.

Installed Zitt’s insignia pop bumper caps on the STLE today, they sure look nice! Will do his laser upgrade mod next when the red lamps are available. This game is so fun to mod!

I installed the Pinball-Mods red laser upgrade mod on my STLE today. Very nice improvement over the stock laser and Klingon multiball is super intense. Installation was straightforward.

I shared the link publicly, try now. Install takes about an hour, it’s all plug and play and completely reversible. The laser has a decal with specifications on it. Great mod and definitely brighter than the stock laser.

Nice, feels good to have that done, for sure. I might put some black electrical tape near the bottom of the apron as some of the laser light is hitting the left flipper bat. I never get sick of looking at and playing this masterpiece of a pin!

Looks great, I'd like to add those two mods to my STLE. Did you have to do assembly or was everything shipped to you plug and play?

Try removing the lockdown bar and playing while activating the leaf switch with your finger to rule out the button. Also activate the leaf switch a few dozen times in switch test mode to ensure it functions consistently. Failing that, maybe a full reload of the game code as a next step.

Woohoo, congrats...always a good feeling to fix intermittent pinball issues. Torpedoes away!

Star Trek belongs in the Top 10 and good to see it back up in the rankings!

Have been watching Picard: Season 3 on HBO Max and really enjoying it. Haven't really been into Star Trek since Next Generation back in my twenties and it's like seeing old friends on screen again. Never thought these old actors would come out of retirement to do another series, it's been fun to watch. Data is my favorite character, of course. Making me want to take my STLE out of storage and play it again!
