Quoted from bailorgana:

My friend is convinced there are some TNG PFs that are not diamond coated. Certain that mine is, and currently does not appear that it will ever bubble or need something else on it besides wax. I would imagine the only thing you would ever need to repair on the PF after a thorough cleaning is the inserts?

Every single WPC/WPC 95 game starting with T2 right up through the very end including pin2k was diamondplated whether the logo is on the playfield or not.

Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:

From what I understand it is Gary Stern himself that has the silly rule of no video modes on their pins.

He must have come up with that rule after South Park as that had a video mode

Quoted from Silverballer:

The video mode on SP was not released from Stern but is on the profanity rom set that is available.
Back to ST. Played a bunch of games on STTNG last night. I must say there is no taming this beast. Every game I tried a different strategy but in the end, it sent me away cussing and smiling simultaneously. Love that game.

Did they pull it out after the game initially came out? Perhaps removed it from later rom sets because I absolutely played it at multiple locations in the Chicago area when the game was put on test and then released.

Quoted from Jean-Luc-Picard:

I think its suppose to be every time. If the percent is really low, you may just be landing on a low random every-time.

No, it will give it to you once in a game.

All games will get dimples when they get played. You don't notice them after awhile because it will even out from being dimpled everywhere.

Quoted from Zitt:

I *think* officers club is when you use a Buy-in or two... and make it to the accommodating high score.
HonorRoll may be if you DONT use buy-ins.
http://pinball.org/rules/startrekthenextgeneration.html
"
Grand Champion 0 or 1 Buy-Ins
Honor Roll 0 or 1 Buy-Ins
Officer's Club More than 1 Buy-In
Q Continuum Score of 10 Billion or more (Any Number Of Buy-Ins)
"

If I am remembering correctly, any game that used a buy-in goes in Officers club. Grand Champion and Honor Roll are only for single game plays. Q's Continuum was scores > 10B and I can't recall if that included buy-ins or not.

Quoted from investingdad:

I just figured out that pressing the right flipper button part way activates only the bottom flipper. Pushing all the way in activates both on ST.

That skill will come in handy sometimes when you have a ball cradled on the bottom flipper and need to make a shot with another ball on the upper flipper on this and many other games.

Quoted from Captain_Kirk:

I'm at work, so I can't go and test, but I've never seen that behavior. It's a switch. It's either on or off, so I don't see how what your describing would work.

On the WMS games there was two sets of optos on the flipper opto board, one for the lower flipper and one for the upper. Pressing the button only part way in only triggered the upper opto so only the lower flipper flipped. I'm sure the Stern setup is pretty much the same, I haven't actually looked in either of my two Stern games but since the behavior is the same I'm sure the hardware is as well.
