Not a problem. An LE pf in a Premium game, someone at Stern messed up. You may have the only one.

It might not be an error. I have a premium as well, and I know for certain that all the wire labels on the bottom of the playfield are labled LE. Not sure what the pf says though.
I'm going to change the LED's in my sttng back box (they are all white at the moment). Could someone please post a pic of their LED setup (which colours go where, etc) so i know how many and which colours i need to get hold of. (YES i'm going to get rid of that alternate translite too )
Quoted from Spitfiren8:I made a cheat sign as well until i memorized it. I was getting the extra ball for a bit but now it is no longer there. Anyone know why the EB disappeared from the maze on me?
I thought the EB only appeared if you haven't gotten any other EBs from that game.
Quoted from nicoga3000:Anyone have replacement apron cards available to print? The yellow stock ones are taaaaacky.
They are floating around. I got mine by doing a search on google for custom apron cards for ST and some cool options came up. You may have to play w/ the size of the print a few times to get the right demensions.

I think it looks best if you just use cool white and warm white, as the LED colors distort the original artwork color (but some people like that I suppose). The warm white go behind all the people, and the cool white goes everywhere else. Cointaker sells this is a kit that has the right number of warm/cool white. I can pm you the exact number of each.
Also, all the GI in my game flickers whenever any of the coils are activated. It's most noticeable with the lights out and looking at the translite which has LED's. Anyone else have this happen? Probably not noticeable with incandescents. Not sure if it's a cold solder joint affected by vibration or if it's from the current pull.

Thanks - I'll start here!
So I played two games over lunch...
First game was "meh" - nothing spectacular.
Second game, however, was a blast. Only put up 54m, but I finally started seeing the magic of 3 in a row and how much of an impact it really does make. I lit super ramps and focused on hitting ramps only to see the scoring - just over 1m for a ramp, 2m for a combo? That will add up quick! Is that bonus tied to how well you did in the three missions that constitute the super you're on?
Also, my magnet is still sticking even after twisting/routing/etc. I haven't tried beads yet, but I'm just going to call Stern and complain. I have no clue why it keeps happening, but it's a HUGE buzz kill during Vengeance.
Quoted from Nokoro:What are those little black rubber things in the goodie bag that comes with Star Trek Pro?
I was confused by that at first, too, but I think they are the little stoppers that go at the bottom of the plastic ball returns from the ramps. The balls hits that then falls through the hole into the inlane.
Quoted from ectobar:... my new personal best consecutive warp ramp hits. Got to warp 9.5 after the first plunge!
Quoted from ectobar:Mine is currently at 4. I haven't ever adjusted it, but it doesn't seem to move on me now. I more or less always get the EB, but the rest of the fam, not so much, which I guess is what's keeping it at 4.
I must suck; the highest I've ever gotten is warp 9.1 in a FULL GAME. I haven't changed my setting so I believe it's on auto but I've never seen EB at anything other than 3 (I assume that's the minimum).
After 300 games I thought I'd hit it more consistently but I'll still brick it a few dozen times in a row sometimes and then all of a sudden hit it 4 times in a row.
Quoted from Roo:I was confused by that at first, too, but I think they are the little stoppers that go at the bottom of the plastic ball returns from the ramps. The balls hits that then falls through the hole into the inlane.
Hey! You're right! Good eye. I never saw them until you mentioned it.

It took me a while to get to 9.9, but after that it seemed like I've been able to harness some Spock like focus and hit it all days and all nights.
Once you can figure out the timing to hit a couple in a row, the numbers add up quickly.
I have a strange issue with my STLE -at the start of the game, the Vengence is pointed down, almost in crash position. Shortly after the ball is launched, the ship resets to the upright position. Is this normal? It just seems odd.
Just finished modding a Hotwheels Klingon Bird of Prey

for use on my STLE. I went all out at created a custom PCB set which provides:
1) Cockpit Red LED
2) Green Front body LED effect
3) Red top LED effect
4) Two Under Wing LED Red LEDs for Playfield Illumination
5) Candle Flicker Yellow LED for rear engine.
Here's a Money shot for you to look over:

Hi, anyone knows what is the ship on the transilete the LE version is the NCC-1701-D or the NCC-1701-E, regards.

Nether, it's the NCC-1701 reboot from the JJ Abrams lens flare vision of the new Star Trek. The D is from The Next Generation TV show and movies and the E is from the last STTNG movies.
Scotty said it best but he was talking about the original but it has the same number as the new reboot Enterprise.
So, I finally caved and closed the outlines by moving the post to the bottom position on my Star Trek Pro. I'm not sure it has improved my game any. I'm wondering how many of you have done the same and whether you notice a difference.
Ok, well maybe it helped a little. Just reached Kobayashi Maru multiball for the first time. It was fun . . . but short lived.
Quoted from Zitt:Is there interest is the PCB set and/or a Tutorial for how to mod these?
I'm not personally interested in sticking another ship on my game, but that's nicely done. Candle flicker is a nice touch even though I guess you're not likely to ever really see it.

Super ramps and combo warp ramps. I was getting 4.2M warps tonight!

Outlanes still factory. But being an STLE, I cheat and have a kickback
Quoted from Eskaybee:Outlanes still factory. But being an STLE, I cheat and have a kickback
That's not cheating then. . If I had that feature, I probably wouldn't have moved them. But without it, I was getting frustrated by just how readily my ball would drain down the left side.
Quoted from Nokoro:Ok, well maybe it helped a little. Just reached Kobayashi Maru multiball for the first time. It was fun . . . but short lived.
I was thinking about moving mine in (Pro also). 400 games or so and i've only done KM once. Two other times the game ended while trying to hit the lit shot to start it. But I dont think i've even got that far in well over 100 games...

Now that I've moved the post in, I've hit KM 3 times in the course of 2 days. I would like to think my skills are improving, but if I have to be honest, I believe the post has something to do with it.
Someone pointed out that the right side of my machine isn't lit on the rails like the left, and a test shows the inner cab "chase" lights and the side rail enterprise lights are out. Any easy fix for these that people know?
decals look nice... i am about to paint borg ship wednesday and thinking about doing cannons as well just can't come up with how i want to paint the cannons
Quoted from Jean-Luc-Picard:RED ALERT!
Just made a prototype decal for ST:TNG LED caps.
I went with chrome again because I have chrome cannons.Chrome caps, to match chrome cannons.

Well; true... but just because the player won't see it ... doesn't mean my "minds eye" wouldn't see it.
If your gonna do it... do it right.
Having said that... The fact there is really only two "toys" on the PF is kinda a let down. While I'm not gonna be putting action figures on the PF... a few extra toys kinda brings it more in line with what I'd expect from an LE.
Haven't had a chance to play my ST since Friday...Played over lunch and didn't have a ball stick during Vengeance. Not sure if that was luck or what. Hope it stays like that. Although, I did flip the right flipper the second after the left shot the ball into the opto. We'll see!
Also, my "normal" game score is between 35-39m I've decided. I regularly score in that range. It's like my personal "wall", haha.
Quoted from J_Striker:does any have any suggestions or opinions about painting the lasers?
I am pretty happy with the chrome. I like the reflections.
I sent my borg and cannons to Matt at Back Alley and had him do the set in "ship tiles".

can you post a pic of your cannons?
i was JUST about to post asking for ideas for painting the borg ship! the stock beige just looks wrong, and the chrome isn't quite right to my eye either. that looks fantastic, Zitt. i'm going to have to look into that. would love to see the cannons as well.
I have one of the black Borg ships as well. Definitely looks more sinister. Pinball Life was selling these at one time.
Quoted from pezpunk:and the chrome isn't quite right to my eye either
The one nice thing about the chrome cannons is it pulls in the light and the reflection sorta looks like a cloaked ship
*I know the photo reference is not the NCC-1701-D. And the development of a cloaking device is a violation to the Federation of the Treaty Algeron. BUT! Picard did authorize a cloaking device on the Enterprise to confront the Romulans.

As I understood it... PBL was stocking Matt's Painted Borg ships. As a result; I just bought the plain white one and a new set of cannon covers; and shipped them to Matt after arranging to have him paint the set. Don't recall the cost; but it was reasonable.
http://www.backalleycreations.com/bac%20star%20trek%20pinball%20addons.html
If your going to put the dome red / prototype covers in the cannons; you'll want to ensure the red domes fit and drill bigger holes BEFORE you ship them to Matt. That way you don't mess up the new paint job.
Thinking a little more about ST scoring strategy.
I believe I've read mention that in the current code some of the multipliers don't work. Anyone know if I'm remembering correctly and if so what multipliers? Pops/Combos/3-in-row ?
Anyway, was reading through this thread:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/stern-st-boring-to-watch
1. It sounds like that thread was based on orig code, and
2. It sounded like timing out modes was a very big part of most peoples strategies.
I don't ever time out any modes. I've thought about it, but it just doesn't seem right. I wasn't aware of the 3 in a row shot multiplier though until reading that thread.
My immediate thought was to get a warp ramp multiplier going and then super ramps, but it doesn't seem like that's an option. The rest of the shots do have multipliers though.
So here's my new super strategy game plan 3000:
PrimeD 1 & 2,
SpaceJ 1 & 2,
DtD 1
Nero 1, 2, 3
StE 1 (consider timing out - boo!)
The thought being, to get super spinner/ramps going at the same time, but take advantage of the spinner multiplier you get from going 3 deep on Nero(Porno title much?).
The next step would be to go:
KlingonB (time out - or don't)
KM
And for the finale, complete StE 2. Once your done that, you'll have super ramps going again.
I'm going to enjoy a beverage and relax, and then give it a go later. Feel free to take my strategy for a spin, or tell me why it sucks in the meantime.
Curious why you're doing PrimeD and SpaceJ 1&2 right off the bat? Also, you probably want to do StE before Nero 1,2,3 so you can get super spinners, no?
I like your organic approach, but I don't quite understand a few choices. Elaborate!!!

The strategy is basically just a super sized version of my old gameplan of getting 2 supers going at once. As such, the order above is only a guideline. The goal being to finish both 3 in a rows at the same time, so you have to do StE last to get Super Ramps and Super Spinners going at once.
The reason for completing all of the Nero's is that the award for doing so is 2X Spinner. The problem is, that 2X only lasts for the ball your on, it doesn't stay put like the Supers do. So that was the reasoning behind doing the 3 Nero's and then StE. After the completion of StE you would have 2X Spinner going, on top of Super Spinners, and Super Ramps.
With Super Spinner alone, I usually get 1mil+ for the spinner. If you could align all of the above, a hit to the spinner(2mil+) followed by a warp ramp(2-5mil) could be very lucrative.
That last piece of the strategy is just pregaming to get get Super Ramps going a second time. You can't get Super Ramps a second time until you complete the entire triangle once. And it's been my experience that PrimeD 2 is a pain in the balls, so I figured just get it out of the way early so you don't have to worry about it later.
I didn't have much luck last night. I shifted gears to just try and get the 2X Super Spinner going to get a real idea of what kind of points it was worth, and the best I could do was get 2X spinner, and then drain immediately, following by an abundance of profanity.
Ha - I have lost my shit SO many times on ball 3. 5 modes completed, working on the 6th, ball drains, profanity ensues. A+
Maybe I need to a primer on how 3 in a row works.
By completing 3 separate modes, you activate super spinner/ramp/pops (i.e. Captain's Chair). Does that carry through from ball to ball? How long does it last?
When you complete a level 3 mission (in your example, Nero gives 2x spinner), that only lasts for the duration of your current ball? Is that the same as super spinner, or is 2x spinner different? Is there a list of what level 3 modes give upon completion?
I think if I can get a handle on that info, I may be able to wrap my head around your strategy better...If it's what I think it is, it makes a lot more sense, haha.
If you complete all 3 levels of a mission, you are awarded a specific 2X multiplier. It is only active for the duration of your current ball.
Here is the list of 2X awards:
Prime Directive: Left saucer
Klingon Battle: left ramp
Save the Enterprise: Right ramp
Space Jump: right orbit
Destroy the Drill:Vengeance Target
Nero:Left Spinner
As for the Supers (ramps/spinner/pops), you get them for completing 3 in a row on the triangle
PD + SJ + STE : Super Ramps
PD + KB + DTD: Super Pops
DTD + Nero + STE : Super Spinner.
The Supers are active until you complete all the shots you are allotted, and carry over ball to ball. ie, I believe you get 10 shots at Super Ramps, you can hit a couple, drain, and then on your next ball Super Ramps are still active.
Anyone replace their mini-post rubber rings?
I started replacing mine with clear Superband ones (which look great). Got about 13/18 (it's a Pro) done but I'm stuck on the one to the left of the Vengeance target. My plan was to remove the clear plastic above it and then swap out the ring by bending the orange/red plastic out of the way -- it has plenty of give and I don't want to tackle removing the whole ship assembly. The problem is there is a washer near the top of the post that I can't get off for some reason. It moves a mm or two up and down but gets tighter near the top and won't come off. The one on the right of the Vengeance target, which is very similar, was no problem. I tried squirting some Novus 1 in there and tried grabbing it with a pliers, but it just gets stuck at the top of the peg. Any advice?
I also didn't get to the one by the left orbit/spinner or the ones on the far left by the shield targets yet. Those look like they're going to be a pain. Looks like you have to basically remove everything on that left side including the entire ramp? First time I've worked on a pin and I'm worried I bit off more than I can chew here. Problem is the rubber by the spinner is getting fairly worn already after only a few weeks so I know I'll need to do it.
