Interesting. Looks like it's related to sales territories. Never knew this. I presume they all have them then?

Quoted from Mad_Dog_Coin_Op:Ok - I have a question. What the heck is this in the middle of my playfield? Never noticed it before now. I was testing some new Titan bands under blacklight on another machine when I noticed it.

My Popeye had a number stamped on it like that as well.
Debating getting a Star Trek pro as my second ever pin. Would you say they are reliable compared to most pins?
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:Debating getting a Star Trek pro as my second ever pin. Would you say they are reliable compared to most pins?
In 4 years of ownership I have had zero issues. I'm sure others haven't been as lucky.

It's a good design, very solid pin, I wouldn't worry about reliability with this one.

Very reliable. Get it!
I agree with everyone else. The only problem I have had was the coil stops needed replaced. Very easy fix, other then that the game has been a champ! Solid, fast, flow is great!
Great game, I have had issues with the optos. They need to be adjusted, cleaned or replaced every now and again. The one under the ship and warp are kind of a pain. However, it's well worth it. I just put some Blitz wax on my playfield and holy crap, it's super fast.
Given 90% of my store is devoted to the Star Trek Pins... I thought you guys might need a reminder:

I seldom get to the second level missions and have never reached the third level, so I have started playing the missions vertically. This is allowing me to see graphics I would normally never reach. The graphics appear to get better in the 2nd & 3rd levels.
Quoted from airplanequartet:I’d like to see the awards for getting three in a row work for going three deep.
I like that they are different.
Quoted from airplanequartet:I’d like to see the awards for getting three in a row work for going three deep.
You are getting a locked in 2x shot. Plus all the medals count for all the wizards modes, so you can get a lot of medals for KM.
One damn shot! ONE!!!
That's how close I came after 3 years of ownership of completing all 18 missions and reaching 5YM. And the bitch of it is, I had two balls in play owing to the Warp 9.9 extra ball award.
And the bigger bitch is that I had a mental freeze. When you go into KM or EA with more than one ball, hitting anything messes up the cutscene music.
Well I didn't want that so I let one ball drain.
Failing to consider I still had to make the Vengeance shot. Then I missed and drained on the last easy ramp.
Goddammit!!!!!
Beam me up to the club!
Snagged this bad boy last night and boy is this a fun game! She's filthy, but she's all there and she plays well. After I strip her down, clean her, replace the balls, replace the rubbers, and replace #61 plastic under the vengeance, what else do I need to do?
I really like toys. I'm thinking about dropping in an enterprise and a Klingon bird of Prey if I can bring everything else up to 100%. Also debating getting an alternate translate. I'm looking into possibly getting a color DMD... Especially if they are transferrable between machines (still looking into this.
All in all this machine is a blast and it may be just that it's the newest machine in my 2 pin house, but I'm digging this one more than the AFMr SE sitting next to it.
I started a separate thread, but if anyone knows where to get a replacement decal for the left side of the back box or just a single replacement plastic (#61 under the backbox), please let me know.
Also, ordering rubbers today. If anyone recommends anything other than black please let me know.
Thanks!

Black rubbers are good. I put blue Super Bands on the flippers.

Welcome to the club! Stern's ST is by far one of my all time favorite pins. I picked up mine about 6 months ago.
You won't be disappointed with a Color DMD - that the first mod I did (followed by art blades). They're pricey at $423, but it adds soooo much to the game seeing the animations in color. Biggest choice you'll need to make is LCD or LED. I went LCD...just a personable preference on the smoothness vs. the color depth of the LED version.
You can move them from game to game, just need to reprogram them accordingly with ROMs from the DMD site.

Welcome to the club, a very fun game, I have a Pro also. A 10 inch self powered sub woofer with a Pinnovators connector really adds to the explosions which there are a lot of. My blue Leg Lights look great on the game, pm me if interested.

What happened to the head decal? Call a dealer and order a replacement...they should be able to get one from stern.

I think your post inspired me. I just gave ST the business. Got to 5YM once again, but this time I pulled off a mythical beast move. I hit warp 9.9 for double scoring while in the last mode. After losing the 2nd ball and then proceeding to brick the Vengeance shot at least 4 times, the pinball gods were merciful and let me start 5YM with a couple seconds to spare on the double scoring clock. Look at that juicy medal award!CPW

note. no chasing leds, only interactive. for whatever reason i was never able to change the title of the tread years ago.
in the end everybody wanted interactive.
Joined the club a few weeks ago. The past two years at Pin-a-go-go, this was the one machine I kept coming back to. It is a fast adrenaline rush of a beast. The previous owner loaded my new toy up to the hilt: color dmd, shaker, alternate translite, side art, cliffy set, bird of prey, green laser, blackout mod, vengeance mod, topper, extra plastic protectors, full set of extra playfield stickers, full new set of extra ramps, and some other stuff that isn't installed (custom pop caps, shooter rod). All at a very friendly price. I AM STOKED to have joined the club in style.

Welcome to the club too.
I will say this...
I like that the "Wizard" mode, 5YM, on this machine is:
- Easy to understand the path, just complete all the missions.
- all the missions are doable with practice, there's some difficulty variability but nothing outrageous or cheap
- it feels accessible, I know the path and I can do the missions
But doing all 18 of them in one game? That's a bitch. This game dangles the carrot really well...right....there...in front of you.
And then it rips it away.
Quoted from Da-Shaker:Get a set of blue Titan rubbers. ST Pro is a little messy with coil/ball dust, black rubbers will just make it worse.
I don't know what's on mine but it's not black rubber. I changed my flipper rubber to blue titan silicone and love it.
IMO, you get more control with Titan flipper rubbers than Super Bands. Super Bands tend to be very bouncy, however they last a long time. I use SB's on posts that take a lot of direct ball hits.

Wow! Well done, sir.
Okay, have had the Star Trek Pro for a week and am loving it. However, there are a few things I don't understand about this game.
1. I keep getting ball saves way after I think I should. I think this has something to do with the shields, but am not really sure.
2. I don't really understand the away team thing... can someone walk me through it?
3. How do the weapons work? I understand I can press the button to launch torpedos when the lights are lit, but what do they do and when should I use them?
Am also going to be installing new balls and rubbers this week along with a thorough cleaning. Any special tips or things I should be looking out for?

1. The left Outlane has a "virtual" kickback. Your Ball will be saved as long as lighted, shield targets Light again.
2. You need away team to start next mode. You can change running missions and add time on level 1 missions.
3. The weapons are charged with the right targets. Fire weapons to hit vengeance and start Vengeance Modes.
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:Am also going to be installing new balls and rubbers this week along with a thorough cleaning. Any special tips or things I should be looking out for?
If your going to do a tear down, I'd suggest to replace all your optos. The Vengeance ship and warp are the hardest to get to. The optos are known to go bad and create a lot of issues when they do. They only cost 5 dollars each at Pinball Life.
Ball Saver seems to last longer than it should because timer does not run while ball is in the pops. This goes for modes also I believe. Countdowns pause while ball is in the pops. Kinda nice really.
Away Team gives various rewards when lit. It also gives opportunity to start a mode if none are currently running.
As for *when* to fire weapons... that will depend on your strategy. I'm still trying to figure mine out.
the last 2 stainless stell panels for star Trek

Edit: This has been sold, thanks!
Doing some garage cleaning, got a Star Trek package, last one, if anyone wants it PM me. Translite, full decal set with speaker panel and all the other decals, instruction cards. All pictured (there's a removable protective sheet over the translite, why I can tape things to it).
First come first served.
