Thank you camcamaro1991! If the board is bad, is it as easy as calling Stern and ordering a new one?

you can try pinball life, Marco specialties, or your distributor

Before ordering; I'd carefully examine the triangle extender board for cold / cracked solder joints.
I'd unhook the long "triangle insert" board, remove it from the machine, and reflow the white connectors with a soldering iron.
If that doesn't fix it; then yeah ordering a replacement board set would be my next shotgun approach.
Keep in mind; that main triangle board is the a main board in the machine... I wouldn't expect it to be cheap.

I am looking for the decals for the cabinet head for my ST Pro. I just need the Kirk side (left) but if someone has both in an alternate or something. Let me know what is out there. Thanks.

Hi everybody,

Sorry for my english, I use "Google translate ».

I'm French, and I'm passionate about arcade mainly but also pinball, or should I say, a single pinball, my favorite: Star TREK TNG.( #STTNG)

For several years, I restore my pinball trying to personalize and create an exceptional model and unique in the world.

The task is difficult, but I take my time trying to always have fun to improve and personalize it;

When finished, it will have nothing to envy to recent pinballs and its aesthetic will be sublime.

Since joining ARCADE, I have always made it a point of honor to share my discoveries and WIPs to help others.

This is the case for the restoration of my pinball through several WIPs, illustrated with several hundred photos.

I unfortunately can not import all these photos on this forum, nor translate all my explanations. But the photographic cliches are so numerous that they can do without explanation.

But if you are interested in my work, I invite you to make the WIPs of the various stages of the evolution of my pinball, by consulting the links at the end of this message.

In order to give you a taste of the improvements I made, I imported some pictures in this post.

I hope that my works will be useful to you and that they will give you some ideas. Feel free to give your opinion, advice or criticism.

Here are the links to consult all the WIPs concerning my STTNG’s restauration:

Why TWO STNGs?

Quoted from xingothx:

my STTNG which is very far from finished:

You are not the first to fall victim to this optical illusion. There is a mirror on the wall right next to the pinball machine.

Thank you for the proposal, but the ultimate goal is that my pinball is unique and not covered with various modding that can be found in dozens, see hundreds of people.

Whilst congratulations for the products you offer, he gives me ideas for my future customizations that will be unique.

So my warp ramp chase light came in from mezel. I'm a little confused if this light goes underneath (or behind) the plastic or on the front of the plastic warp ramp itself? I would think the former but it's basically just a LED strip and the bottom has the adhesive so not sure how putting it behind the plastic would work as the lights themselves needs to be against the plastic.

Can someone confirm or share a pic?

btw - those update pop bumpers sold here look fantastic. HUGE upgrade thanks

EDIT - so I went underneath and used a little tape to make it clean. Problem is I don't have an open plug to plug this thing into. Damn - didn't come with an adaptor either. I wonder if home depot or some place similar will have an adaptor.

#6568 6 years ago

Apparently there is a 1.61 custom code that is good. Anyone have a link for pro?

#6569 6 years ago

Hello All,

I am still having problems with bad ghosting in my STTNG even after installing the no ghosting patch and using ghost busting bulbs. The 6 mission lights, Q’s light and the 3 green lane lights just don’t like LEDs installed. Old school bulbs work perfectly but look funny mixed in with the LEDs. Is anybody else having this problem? Does anybody have a fix or is this something I just have to live with? Thanks in advance.

Quoted from Mad_Dog_Coin_Op:

You mean the orbit lanes with Starfleet logos on them?
If so; I have green cheapy LEDs in there and have no issues with with the ghost patch.
The only problem I have with that LEDs is that they are subject to vibration due to the drop target nearby... so I have random problems with them lighting sometimes.

Have you looked into the LED OCD board for your game?

#6575 6 years ago

I haven't. The LED OCD seems kind of pricey but worth it if it fixes the problem. Has anyone tried this on a STTNG with good results? I'll give it a try if I can get some positive feedback.

I know it is but it's worth every penny, I have it in 5 of my games.

#6578 6 years ago

Anybody aware of issues with double scoring not doubling point values after hitting warp ramp 9.3 times or whatever. Keep thinking I'm crazy but can't quite confirm it's working, especially with other MB running. I don't quite trust it.

Also, are there any exploits on the Prem/LE involving the VUK backhand shot you guys know about? Since you can cradle two balls and always hit the VUK as many times as you want in a row.

Just installed a color DMD for my ST pro. I noticed some odd miscolorization during Prime Directive... not sure if this is because I am running Scan mode, or because I am using custom code with the movie soundtrack. I will try dots xl tonight and see what happens. I like the custom sounds too much though, if it's because of the code I'll just live with it.

Zitt pop bumper caps looking nice too, I may add those as well.

That odd colorization is supposed to be there at the beginning (and the end I think) of the mode. Sort of a rectangle overlaid on top of the video, right?

#6588 6 years ago

What I am noticing is that the 2 guys running away have color changing and moving around outside the lines of where you'd expect the color to stay. I'll have to wait and see what the dots mode looks like.

#6589 6 years ago

I haven’t noticed any issues on the LED besides the odd uncolored screen and I’m running a custom soundtrack rom. Make sure your cables are seated right maybe?

#6590 6 years ago

Kind of a strange glitchy look, it mainly affects the guy on the left and the countdown timer. This is the only mode I've noticed having color issues. All other screens I've seen so far look normal.

Dmod is here at TPF'2018... I'd shoot color dmd an email showing those pictures. It's not normal.
If I remember tomorrow; I mention this thread to him... but keep in mind there is no internet in the conv hall; so it make be monday before he can respond.

#6592 6 years ago

Good idea, I will message dmod... I'm not in any particular hurry. Doesn't seem like an issue with the DMD itself, but might be code not all uploaded? I will post back the results if we find a solution.

#6593 6 years ago

Hey Guys,

Just brought home a project 1979 Star Trek game, and thought I'd see if I can join the club. I'll post some pictures here later today. She needs some work but should be a fun one to work on.

I was hoping that someone here could help me, by posting a good, close up picture of their rectifier board. I need to see how the wires hook into it at the bottom of it. Mine are soldered (I'll post a picture of that later) but I am pretty sure it should be a plug that you can unhook to get the board out.

But anyway........... I am sure I will have lots a question concerning this game and I hope you guys can help me out to get it up and running, every now and then.

Thanks!!
