Quoted from Brett-L:

when the ball ejects from the scanner shoot-out and hits the flipper, it goes dead. Any helpful info would be great, thanks!

That is the downfall of the TY-FFASI system... Data East would later upgrade the flippers
and put back the End-of-Stroke switch, so as the ball hits back the flippers the switch
would re-trip the +50 circuit. Make sure the holding voltage is solid.

I'm open to how to make or where to buy something that fits. I think they would look great.

They made a repo board for the game that fits into the back box.
As far as the light tubes??? Three strands on each side of the center part of the ramp.
It would be nice if one can get them aligned so that they are in parallel.

Probably just a broken wire on the coil.

Quoted from Brett-L:

I checked the wires at the coil before posting.

Did you check the coil for broken bobbin wire at the solder lugs?

Quoted from vec-tor:

Did you manually ground the return to the transistor to see if the coil fires?
Does the coil get primary voltage +28 volt/ +50 volts?

#194 5 years ago

1) is there +50 volt present at the coil ?vio-yel is direct voltage.( no relay involved )
2) if so.... can you ground the anode side of the diode/coil lug ( brn-vio ) wire.
3) does the coil fire?
4) if not, then coil is bad... check for broken coil wire around the lugs...
--- it is a very common problem...
5) if the coil does fire, then the problem if further up the circuitry.

Quoted from ChadH:

Would you like it if the Left Scoop was treated as if all games were labeled "Lite Scanners"? And if your game doesn't say "Lite Scanners" then maybe someone could come up with a Lite Scanners decal for those who wanted one.

Have switch option. Like Addams Family.

#406 4 years ago

O.K. how about new art that says "lite crystal or scanner"

#409 4 years ago

I bet Data East had the code changed from lite scanner to lite crystal...
Because, the lite scanner is a two step process that slowed the game down.
kind of like the same problem that Data East Star Wars had with the Jabbas Bounty.

Good Easter Egg find!

Quoted from hwyhed:

I have a question..I just recently saw a video on this game, and while on video mode-not the start of a ball, but during play, the player gets rewarded points for shooting down aircraft..mine doesn’t do this. It’ll just tell me that I shot 6 outta 10, not reward points for every hit/explosion. I dunno even what to look for or…

When the game is booting, it would display CPU ROM version and display version

You may have a stuck playfield switch that cancels the video feature.
