In my Star Trek LE (Stern 2013) pin, I noticed that the backbox was much dimmer than usual. I opened it up, and the fluorescent bulb is flickering/wavering dimly.

Does the bulb need to be replaced? That's what I think, based on replacing fluorescent lights around my house. Is this a standard size/spec? I didn't see one in this size at Home Depot, but I haven't looked very hard yet.

They should have them. Pretty much a standard 24" fluorescent. Bulb should be the culprit.

Yes. Time for a new bulb.

The flickering may have hurt the starter too, may as well get a new one of those while you are at it.
