Gotcha, by 'finishing' you mean completing all three stages?

Yup
If its as at expo, completing a 'column' or 3x the mode (ie NERO III, or SAVE THE ENTERPRISE III), you will double all shots to a specific shot for that ball.

My one second attempt at vengeance multiball started 'Vengeance scoring' which was 5 hurry up shots to vengeance starting at 1 mil and increasing (i think) if you made the hurry up fast enough..
