    Yes, this POS used toy pin tech with a metal playfield strip and a spring stretched in front of the slingshots to fire them. The wire from the spring passed through a hole in the playfield but after much use (or shipping) started to shift and ground against playfield. It gave the same problems you are seeing. I used a piece of insulation and JB Weld to isolate the wire and it worked fine afterward.
