Friend of a friend has a Star Explorer game that previously worked fine, but was left out in the weather a couple of days and is experience issues with the display. Game does turn on fine, and solenoids and lights work perfectly. The display will only show 88800 and does not change during gameplay and the top left LED stays lit. Also, the owner says it would play a sound or sounds when you turn on the game, however the only sound it makes is when a ball goes into the bonus score eject hole. I've removed all three cards out the motherboard and the edge connector and cleaned the contacts with deoxIT, but that didn't make any improvement.

It ended up being the three 4433 IC's on the display board. Luckily there were some for sale in Ebay. Since this was a shotgun style repair, I put in sockets for all the IC's, but there wasn't much clearance with the score display, so I had some inline sockets that I used "socket" the score display as well.
