Doing a playfield swap on a High Speed. For the flush-mount, staple-down lamp sockets, I'm wondering if anyone has ever used solder lugs for the braid wire. I don't particularly like the look of soldering right to the playfield, and more importantly, it would be nice to not have to unsolder to replace a socket or even just a bulb.

I know these work with sockets that are screwed into the playfield. I'm wondering if they might also work for these staple-down sockets. Any thoughts?

You could find something like this that'd probably work (the ones shown here only have one lug obviously)...

Staple might not be as tight as a screw can be but no reason why not as long as the metal-metal contact is good. You could probably solder the lug to the socket before stapling it in.

Ok, thanks! I may give it a try.

I use those exact sockets for PF plastics lighting lamps and even BG lighting too. They are SO much better than the staple down kind. The PBR sockets are high quality too, they work great. Good luck!
