This past Saturday, I went to Comic Con in Irving, TX. Stan Lee was there so I took my Spider-Man translite. He signed it and I got my picture taken with him. Pretty cool eh? Steve Ritchie and Gary Stern also signed my translite at the 2011 Texas Pinball Festival. 'nuff said.

    Simply surreal. That is awesome.
See you already have stern and ritchie on there as well.

    holy badass translites, batman...err...spider-man.

that's one of the coolest things i've ever seen, man. very, very neat. congrats.

    #7 8 years ago

Cool Ed. I didn't know Stern was at the TPF.

    #8 8 years ago

I heard comic con was a cluster this year. I had friends go get Patrick Stewarts autograph.

Austin comic con is going to have 7 TNG actors.

I may get a sttng translite just to get signed

    #9 8 years ago

Right on he signed my Incredible Hulk 181 "first full appearance of Wolverine" now if I could get JPOP to sign my Totan.

    #10 8 years ago

Wow! That is cool as hell!

If I was in the market for an SM, I would seriously pay quite a bit extra to get one with that translite.

    #11 8 years ago

Who is Stan Lee and what is Comic Con?

Gary was not at the 2012 TPF this past March, but he did attend last year (2011).

    Awesome. Nice touch.

Yes, Comic Con was quite... er... interesting
I waited in line for some time to meet Stan "The Man" Lee. That was my mission for going. I didn't do much else but people watch. I knew Patrick Stewart was there, but I didn't see him.

I assume you are kidding, but on the off chance you are not

Comic Con is a giant Comic Book and Sci Fi show. The ultimate place to get your "geek" on. The nice thing about Comic Con... it's the one show your wife or girlfriend will have no problem with you going alone

Stan Lee (along with an artist named Steve Ditko) created Spider-Man. Stan Lee also created pretty much the entire Marvel Comics Universe:

Thanks...seriously didn't know that but have an SM pin and that would be cool....

But Comic Con?........My kids already think I'm an idiot for buying pins and if I showed up at something like that, although it sounds like fun, I wouldn't be able to return home!

You need to start watching Big Bang Theory

What's up DC...not one of my shows but I'm trying to understand the dorkiness and where I fit in.....sometimes I wonder I always liked my "friends in low places" but does it jive with Comic Con?....

Congrats! BTW, I HATE YOU NOW!!! (j/k!)

Big Bang Theory is a really funny/quirky show with a hot chick involved. Stan Lee has been on once or twice. I never was a science/math geek growing up because I got bored easily with public school education. Public school was just too slow a process for me despite the fact that I was attending a very good public school. I just wanted to play sports and hangout with my friends. I just coasted by in school. After high school I went to the local university and struggled with the bad study habits which was a product of my boredom with public school. After a couple of years I started cruising through Electrical Engineering school and my inner nerd was born

It's like we don't even know you. Turn in your geek card on the way out. LOL

    #24 8 years ago

possibly the most awesome thing in the universe. very cool.

    #26 8 years ago

Stan sure does love signing superhero crotches doesn't he?
Was he signing at the Sears portrait studio? Because that picture is awesome!

"Is the Thing's dork made out of orange rock like the rest of his body?"

Stan Lee is the man, absolutely fantastic to have him sign your translite.

    Neeeeeeerd!!!

    #29 8 years ago

    Very Nice!

    #30 8 years ago

Went to comic con in NYC last year.. wow, what a nerd fest. Then again a comic con attendee would probably say the same thing when they saw us in a pinball show!

Seriously though, brought my kids (in their teens) and we couldnt help but laugh and take pics of all the over the top nerds! hahaha

Fun times but.. wouldnt want to get caught in a picture that got in a newspaper..

    #31 8 years ago

I had a cat named Stanley. Its dead.

    #32 8 years ago

You should have had tobey maguire sign it.

    #33 8 years ago

If I go to a techno fest, I'm a techno nerd.
If I go to a gaming convention, I'm a gamer nerd.
If I go to a beer tasting I'm a beer geek.
If I go to a pinball fest I'm a pinball nerd.

I guess it's time to face facts...

I guess I'll just have to be at least 3/4 nerd and 1/4 geek.

Actually it was Stan Lee & Jack Kirby.

Awesome! I have a comic signed by Stan, but the Translite looks so much cooler!
