Quoted from Rarehero:...aaaand right off the bat - amazing new attract mode light show - but the LE rails are no longer on
WTH?
Seriously? What's up with that?

Quoted from Rarehero:...aaaand right off the bat - amazing new attract mode light show - but the LE rails are no longer on
WTH?
Seriously? What's up with that?
Quoted from smassa:Wow really??? Going to uninstall cause you miss a flashy and annoying at times attract mode???
You play the game not the attract mode.
I think it blows that they deleted that. Is the ship not backlit anymore during attract mode?
If there are no changes to the rules/scoring, I have no plans to update to this.
Quoted from markmon:I guess you just look at games. Maybe you should play the game rather than stare at it in attract mode. Lol.
Does it have to be one or the other?
Why can't we keep part of the attract mode that we all loved (the backlit Enterprise and photon torpedoes) in *addition* to the code update?
Quoted from Rarehero:I hope a reindeer shits on your head tonight.
I don't care what anybody says, that shit was funny!
Quoted from markmon:Oh I agree with that. But why would any real player ever consider a downgrade due to just missing attract mode features?
How do you know it's a downgrade?
What are all the improvements that would make it better for a "real player"?
Quoted from markmon:For someone to be complaining about the missing attract mode features then to immediately after ask about downgrade and backing up for downgrade, what should we think? Rules or play changes weren't even part of the consideration.
Good thing rarehero has you to blindly stick up for him.
Blindly?
Please Mark, even you don't believe that crap. You know me better than that. I speak my mind...to a fault.
You haven't even answered the question. Do you know what the improvements are? We do know that the Enterprise is no longer backlit, and the photon torpedoes are gone from attract mode. That's a negative in my opinion. Where are the positives that would outweigh it, for a "real player"?
If you don't know, then why would you even make such a statement?
Quoted from smassa:I can watch my TV with the game on & not feel like i'm at a Rave now.
I wouldn't even be complaining if all they did was take away the flashers. That actually makes some sense.
Taking away the dim backlit Enterprise? Not so much.
Same with the photon torpedoes. They could still have those go off, and just disable the flashers.
Quoted from markmon:Rarehero wasn't saying "I wonder what game play changes there are". He didn't address game play at all.
Seriously?
This is what you are all worked up about? He didn't specifically comment about game play changes, so saying he disliked the fact that they did away with some of the attract mode features and wished that he had made a backup equates to you going on and on about it, and implying he's not a "real player"?
Quoted from markmon:No real real player would consider a downgrade solely based on attract mode features.
Why are you acting dimwitted tonight?
For the third time: WHAT ARE THE FEATURES THAT MAKE IT BETTER FOR A "REAL PLAYER"?
You keep assuming that the old code is a "downgrade" without giving any facts to back it up. If the only upgrades are a few more call outs and animations for example, I don't necessarily see that as a reason to upgrade...if it means losing some cool attract mode features.
Quoted from smassa:Well one thing that has been mentioned is at the start of Vengeance MB the ball is not diverted into the pops but loops around to the flipper. This is a big improvement as time is not wasted that you can use to knock the other ball loose to get the 3ball MB instead of 2. It has happened a few times where I never even got a shot cause the ball was in the pops too long.
Thanks, and that's exactly the kind of example that I'm looking for.
Quoted from Admiral:This is in my STLE v1.3.
So if this setting is already in version 1.3, this update seems to be very minor to say the least.
Quoted from pins4life33:- Feature #33 to turn off multipliers, should have been defaulted at 'no' IMO but a welcome addition...
It was already there in version 1.3
