SST White Star board issue

I've got a SST that's been mostly trouble free till this week:

The issue:

When the pin kicked the 2nd ball out of the trough into the shooter lane during a game, the GI and then all the insert lights began to alternately flash on and off. GI lights then insert lights with the GI relay audibly clicking. The DMD also went out (or off). That is the present state of the game right now.

I ran through what trouble shooting advice was posted on pinwiki for whitestar boards:
The closest situation was a low 5vdc problem, I found 5.0v on the I/O Power driver board and 4.95 on the CPU/Sound board so that doesn't seem to be the problem.

I've checked all fuses and reseated connectors to check along that angle.

Yes, there was some battery leakage in the past on the board. It looks to have been contained above the chip at U212, affecting the 2 diodes above it. I'm not sure if any repairs were done here, other than cleaning the board.

I'm not sure what U212 does, but thinking that might be the location for my trouble with the pin. Is pulling the board off and then checking it over the next step here? Should I be concerned that the reset problem involves the I/O Power board at all or any other board?

Since I haven't done any major board work, if chip sockets need to be replaced and/or traces repaired, this step should probably be left to the 'pro's !?!

Looking for any insight to others that may have had a similar issue on a White Star board.

Thanks!

Yup. WhiteStar traces are very fine.
U212 is the static RAM. It's common for the traces under the chip socket and around the socket to corrode from leaky batteries. This prevents the MPU from running, blanking kicks in, and you see what you are describing.

Post a pic of the alkaline corroded area. We can give you a better opinion.

If you need it fixed, I can take care of it for you. Drop me a PM.
