Working on this vector. The S+T boots up fine, but the background noises, SFX and Voices are all very faint, but there. Tried this in another machine, with the same result. Replaced a few caps so far and still the same result. Volume Pots seem okay, they crackle a bit, but it hums Much louded when you turn up the volume pots on the card itself.

Any ideas which Cap or what else may be the cause here?

I had the same problem. Did a full recap of my Squawk And Talk and it resolved the issue.

This will likely be one of the caps. I had a similar issue, and pinpointed the troublesome cap with multimeter. After replacing the cap, it resolved the issue.

Yup, same here. Replace all caps and you should be good again

Will do - just ordered a cap kit from GPE! How did you find the bad cap, they have to be tested under load correct?

Just replace them all. There's no point in trying to find one offender when they are probably all going bad and will fail at some point. Should take 30 min to do the full set

Change all caps and the 2 potentiometers
if that dont fix the problem you might have a bad tda2003
