i know it may sound strange but try rapidly turning the volume potentiometer on the sound board up and down. mine has done that before... I think the filth maybe gives it a little capacitance and it blocks high or low frequencies like a crossover. If that does it or while you're turning it you get all the sounds intermittently, replace the pot. I think it's a 20k.
